Prorogue was a great underused scrabble winner (stick the pro onto "rogue" & hopefully get on a triple word score square to boot). Now, quite frankly I'm somewhat tired of hearing it.
And then there's the Welsh. My favorite has to be- LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH
I haven't got a favourite word at the minute. I do have a noun(I think it's a noun, anyway) I'm into though; "Intestinal Fortitude". I'm trying to use it as often as I can!
Anyway, apologies to all if my other rant offended. I can't stand rudeness to others yet there was I being rude. I think I might have a break from posting now!
Never knew that! On my 500 mile walk earlier this year, I had to abort one day because of snow higher up. I ended up at a place called Gollinglith Foot, on the edge of the Dales near Masham. I had great difficulty getting a taxi, because nobody knew what I meant on the phone. Eventually I found out it was pronounced "Gownley Foot", and the taxi came.
I've always wondered why keighley is pronounced keithley . I guess I could go look it up but then it would ruin the mystique for me .
