Just got in to see the predictable response. Thanks to those who’ve done the work for me and posted the links. No doubt Dr Pepper has heard enough from experts, though, and can provide some alternative facts to back up his dumbass ideas.
Sorry for being predictable and asking for evidence.... I have looked at the links and cannot see which schools got the money or why. I can see the change in funding though and at first glance it does seem to back up some of your statement. However when you look at the amount per pupil. They appear similar. Schools are funded through local councils, with certain schools such as academies receiving more. Also you can receive more for the make up of your school, ie more if you have children eligible for free school meals. Now let’s consider Barnsley central vs Barnsley east, they are considerably different in funding. Is this because the tories like Barnsley Central more? I’m sorry if you think I’m being obtuse, I just don’t see how they can say the money has gone here... unless they can show a breakdown of schools where the money went.
Thought we were having a intelligent conversation . Lapse into abuse when you have have nothing positive to add . End of....
Rude and obnoxious ? I started by questioning your statement implying all UK expats in Spain would be interviewed. i.e. "Where have you seen/heard that? I cannot find anything on BBC website ..... Think you or they made that up..." . In a way, you had (not lies -I never said that) since you made a 'giant leap' assuming Spanish Govt policy came from the mouth of a mayor of a Provincial town, based on comments he made in a piece on the BBC (not noted for Brexit impartiality), contradicting Spain's declared legal position and interviews with the very expat sector who I referenced. Talk about bias confirmation! I also note you assumed that "I must be rattled" without even reading the post I made. I have accused you of hypocrisy (to which you have not responded), given you claimed you "think of the well being of others" then in the same post, wish ill on those (and it was not just me as you subsequently claim) who disagree with your PoV. You have called me rude and obnoxious but that is how many of your posts come across when responding and with a hint of arrogance not just to me, but to other who hold different opinions to you. I do try to debate sensibly but sometimes react when others fail to do so. In contrast, in spite of the fact I have the completely opposite view regarding the medium long term impact on the UK to DannyWilsonLovechild, we manage to debate rationally, since he posts intelligent, fact based and balanced views and never comes across as arrogant or patronising but educated and well travelled. I agree with some of what he says but we differ as as to the ultimate outcome. There is far to much heat and not enough light on this forum at times.
It was a segment on the news discussing what ex pats thoughts were who lived in Benalmadena. They had the mayor on and he was discussing his views. Medication and how that could impact on ex pats was one of the key things discussed - someone had a heart condition etc etc. Again, not at any point have i suggested he had some authority so I haven't made anything up- there are ways and means to ask someone about something they posted without accusing them of fabrication. I would've given you my full respect and read on had you not done that. And as I clearly pointed out in my previous post, my wish for pro leave ex pats to get shafted was as a result of your attitude towards me. I see it akin to turkeys potentially voting for Christmas, though, as you nor I can say with any degree of certainty that nothing will impact on you. These political threads bring out the worst in people and I have resisted the urge to get involved for quite a while. I've learnt my lesson now though.
Certainly happy to learn any lessons that guide and discipline my approach to financial affairs . Nothing wrong with that is there? It would be a good maxim for any government spending our tax money ,don’t you agree? P S . which translation did you read ?
