Love it when bookies purposely make odds short on someone they know isn't in the running, people fall for it, lump on and the bookies make a fortune when that person doesn't get the job like they knew all along.
They'll be going for a more high profile manager, if Stendel wasn't German he wouldn't be in the running.
I live over in Shepley now so know quite a few town fans. They really don't want to go down the German head coach route again (in the short term anyway). I'm sure Stendel will also seek advice from Winkler following his unsuccessful stint there but they don't have any money. The new owner used the first parachute payment to fund his buyout of Dean Hoyle. Fans are already questioning the owner's intentions and I believe some want full disclosure on how he bought the club. They've got rid of some of their best players and Karlan Grant aside I don't see much quality in their squad. I think they will end up going for Nigel Adkins but there is a huge amount of negativity around the club at the moment. If they don't start to pick up some form soon then I would have them down for back to back relegations.
He’s not now, out to 7/2. Stendel 2/1 fav. Hope there’s nothing in it other than town fans putting bets on assuming he fits the bill.
If Daniel's fed up with the recruitment situation why wouldn't he take a bigger offer? Watch for the Heckingbottom play now by he club: New contract with big release clause - permission to speak to them - "we are shocked he has decided to leave!"
I dont think Huddersfield would be a good move for him - they have no money to spend either and are a good bet for doing a Sunderland and going down again. Far better for him to stay with us, if he can get us climbing the table far better offers will come in as the season progresses.
Lee Bowyer was apparently offered the job but has turned it down, so as you say Tyke69, it now appears that the new favourite is Danny Crowley, although it sounds as though he is very reluctant to leave Lincoln City.
Cant see why either of those would take it when what they are doing with their respective clubs is obviously working well.
