Could be any number of reasons he hasnt extended his contract. Also these players have presumably come as he is head coach. Will have to wait and see what happens but most managers will lose their best players at some and dont throw their toys out the pram.
He’s not thrown his toys out the pram he’s got on with it, but he will now understand how things will work going forward and will probably realise we won’t ever get too far forward with this model unless something changes.
Going to Huddersfield seems like Kieffer going to Wigan and Davies to Stoke. Hardly a step forward for an ambitious young manager.
Much like selling our best players and replacing them with kids who might be worth something and then get sold again eventually and repeat the cycle whilst we bounce between Championship and League one.
This season has barely started and we seem to be resigned to going back down already. We need a bit more positivity than that. And Stendel as head coach will have had a part to play in convincing them to stay surely?
Is there any other reason when it comes to us? But he has had key players sold. He’s not got the experienced players that he has requested. He’s not from Barnsley. He has no other links with the town or club apart from last year. And Money For him, the team, and his coaching staff...
I have always thought that Daniel would see out his contract and then go back to Germany unless of course we look destined for the Prem.
Maybe he feels as though completing the job here is just too difficult due to the uncompromising nature of our player strategy. I hope he doesn't go but if he feels that any meaningful progression in the championship is impossible without changes in recruitment / retention strategy then I could see him moving on. I hope that I am wrong.
I'm not resigned to relegation but I am getting extremely frustrated with our policy. Seeing players with potential brought in, developed then sold as soon as they start to realise their potential is not giving us the foundation we need to feel there is much ambition beyond making a few quid while we yo-yo between league one and the championship.
I would think that the interviews DS has done since pre-season would highlight this. He's mentioned it on numerous occasions that he wanted experience to backup the young talent
I have no idea, but we haven't spent anywhere near what we have made in sales plus the 6m we already had in the budget. So I would say we probably have got room to have made a couple of experienced players. Even if they are free transfers so saving on fee and paying a little extra in wages and signing on fee
We have no idea about his kind of demands, he may have identified players on 6-10k a wage in this league (and some are ***** on that type of money) and we aren't going to break our wage structure until we have all the infrastructure in place. There's still a transfer window to come this season, maybe some players decided to leave so late in the window we didn't have a chance of signing a replacement. We will see l suppose.
Is it happening? Or is it the usual betting sh*t? Somebody has a speculative bet, the bookies instantly make them favourite, and then folk start to lump on after assuming the bookies know something. We’ve done this to death on here. It’s a dead market so a bet or two will make a massive difference to the odds.
