you can’t even use the forum software to quote. If I was a tw@ I’d use the phrase Ming Mong, but that’d be crass so I won’t.
This bit Nudge... Where we all pointed out the ancient Greeks discovered the world was round... Then you ignored it cos it made it obvious you had as much of a clue about science as you do about everything else.
Nudger. A prime example of what not to be proud of in a British person. Ignorance, bigotry, arrogance and chauvinism.
We have still got manufacturing industries but so many are now in foreign hands....like utilities companies...car builders...steel works...transport companies etc etc. We used to rule the waves but have now barely got a Navy. Not pulling the cou try down, just living in the real world. Guessing you've retired injured
Quoting your bit.... "For some reason the site is not allowing me to answer posts in the usual way." That's not a bad thing.....British technology at its best
Me too....I just don't live in a supposedly glorious past.....having an Empire wasn't all good. It's a different world now....technology and skills are shared worldwide so we need to have partners to be part of it and benefit from it.
Yes - we need to be part of the world - and not a colony of Europe. We have more in common with our cousins in Canada, America, India, New Zealand, Australia etc etc - than we have with countries like France.
India is very pro Britain. Can’t say that of France or Ireland. They generally hate us. Much rather negotiate with the Germans.
Faith is a vice. If you mean we need to start trusting the powers that be in this country, think again.
This is true. The EU would also have to agree to the extension. But in a world where Johnson has been compelled to request the extension, the EU may well conclude that Johnson is not totally in control, and that the prospect of agreement eventually being reached following further developments (a differently-constituted government following an election, for example) justifies a further period of extension to see if progress can be made. Having been obliged by law to request the extension, I don't think that Johnson could then use a veto without effectively breaking that law. So I don't think it's an option. Note that the extension must only be requested if, by 19 October Parliament has not voted in favour of a deal or in favour of no deal. The terms of the letter which Johnson must send are set out in the draft bill. The bill simply creates further space (until 31 January) to see if an alternative to no deal can be agreed. Going by the past couple of weeks, the landscape could look very different by then. The biggest danger I see ahead is that Johnson will soon have no alternative but to collude in some way with Farage to get his (or Farage's) way. That is the direction he has taken his party in. That danger in turn is why Brexit has been so repulsive to so many of us. It is the product of a nasty, isolationist, uncooperative and selfish way of looking at the world on the part of some (but I stress not all) of it's proposers.
The country would be out by now if it wasn't for the whining remoaners saying those who voted leave were doing it out of protest. If we all moan long enough both sides will get that fed up they'll have to hold hands and sing ging gang gooly then everything will just be fine. Us remoaners will grind you down eventually. If at first you don't succeed whine and moan until you do. Britain will eventually end up like an African province where election results aren't accepted. Best of three anyone? The irony is MP's saying it's the death of democracy. The vote was already cast. It was their duty to deliver it. Eventually there will be another civil war in this country.
Let’s be factual The country would be out by now if it wasn’t for the very people (ERG) who’ve lobbied for leaving the EU for years and then refused to vote for TM’s deal. Nothing to do with remainders - simple ‘political shenanigans’ by people who know only trouble causing. That’s a very simple mathematical fact.
