Why is it geared towards? It is a vote with a negotiated, actual version of Leave against Remain. You can vote to leave, you can abstain, or you can vote to remain. What option would you like on the vote? No Deal, Superhard, eject the UK into the Sun Brexit? Two versions of leave split the leave vote. That makes it *less* likely that we leave. If that is what you want, why are you not supporting it, unless you think Remain would win?
Just look how Thornberry answered that question on Question Time.. She would go to the EU negotiate a new deal on their terms, then come back and vote against Labours own deal in favour of remain. So there you have it, they have no intention of leaving.
You've missed my point why can't Labour negotiate a deal or their own? Why are they putting a deal back on the table they've already voted against if they aren't dead set on remaining?
I live in Doncaster North so I am under Ed Miliband. I don’t think the Lib Dem’s will get close around here, but the Brexit party will be at least second. At least. Ed is under huge pressure to be re-elected. I think Jarvis would have stood down from Barnsley Central to concentrate on the regional mayor gig if the election was in another couple of years - as its likely to be next month I think he’ll stand though. Again Lib Dem’s might gain a few votes but not too many - and again I can see Nigel’s nazis going close there.
Haha, in our mind maybe.. Fact, they have rejected everything!!! Fact - Thornberry admitted basically the Labour policy as per my previous post. Work at a deal and then vote against it. I know you love the Labour party and everything Corbyn stands for and fair play to that but that stance trotted out by her is simply ridiculous. Senior party member, I'd would have brushed it off it it was a random backbencher under pressure.
It is *logically* possibly to negotiate the best possible deal for leaving, but still think it is worse than the status quo. That is the Remain position, but it respects the result of the vote and allows you to see what Leaving could mean. If you didn't like May's withdrawal agreement, would you prefer No Deal (if so, why?) or would you prefer to see another form of leaving? In the same way as you could work towards achieving a promotion, then realise that it wasn't worth the extra hassle to do the job or negotiate a divorce settlement and realise that you do still love your ex and get back together.
My point is that she specifically stated that they would go and negotiate a deal and would vote against it. Not that the deal would be taken on any merit.
The technology talked about is an update to the EU's Smartborders 2.0 put together by Lars Karlsson, former head of both Swedish Customs and The World Customs Organisation...Karlsson told Parliament it could be modified and up and running in two to three years.
Just as an update...I've been reading Caroline Flint's piece in the Donny Free Press this morning... she has said she expects a version of May's final deal to come before the House in mid October.
I think that's very presumptuous. But I thought, if elected, they were going to put forward a deal and then have a referendum on it?
