Are we 'Billy big ********' all of a sudden? We'd only probably muster 3-4 k more for our biggest games
Haven’t we got close to 10k season ticket holders to start with? Use the attendance against Leeds as a real measuring stick next week. We’ll fly past 16k and thats with 1400 north stand seats empty and half the west stand wrote off
Agreed. There is not much difference between Donny Rovrum and us. In fact - I’ve always said that Donny is a biggish club just waiting to happen. Big catchment area. It needs the pump priming. And there’s plenty of money in Donny to do it.
Donny’s Pump has been primed previously and they failed miserably to back the club. Former Chairman John Ryan constantly talked them up as a ‘sleeping Giant’ during their rise from The Old Conference league. However, in their first season back in the second highest tier, for the first time in about 54 years, they struggled to get 10,000 home fans on anywhere near a regular basis. If you want to correlate the size of a Town/City and it’s population with a football club’s average attendance (particularly when they’re doing well) then Donny’s is not good.
Donny is a bigger town than barnsley but it just cant get the numbers even for the derbys last time we played them we took 3800 on a Friday night for a game on sky donny did a ticket offer where a season ticket holder could bring a friend along for a reduced fee the total attendance that night was still short of 12k. I don't mind donny it's a town with a big population of plastic leeds fans which hampers the home support but I'd like to see them promoted and us play them in the championship again. Id also like to see darren moore get them promoted.
Why does that make a difference? A concession is anyone who doesn't pay the adult price, so will include over 65s, young adults, under 19s and under 12s.
There are more Leeds fans in Donny than rovers fans Darren Moore has made an excellent start they lost their manager and many first team players during the summer.
Patrick said a few years ago that we have a significantly higher percentage of concessions tickets than any other local club. Presume that’s still the case.
Number of fans is meaningless. We aren’t The Wednesday massive now are we but I’d say if you are going to make a comparison you would need to break it down to full paying / concessions etc otherwise your data is meaningless.
Good for them, that's a decent turn out. Never understood the stigma around how many fans a club has.
I still don't understand why. They are still supporters regardless of how much they pay. The proportions will be similar at every club anyway.
