He had no choice; Boris was going to stand someone against him.
Because clearly ‘we won - get over it’ is more important than our basic traditions and values.

His association actually declared they wouldn't support him at the next GE. The dark arts of the unelected Cummins.

Been watching the commons for the last 2 hours and have to say, I'm feeling more proud of its actions without many government and whipped tories in it, than at other times.

Of course not many will see this compassion, morality and fairness. It's not on the agenda for those wanting to sow hate divisiveness and untruths.

The fact that the Tories - who have been trying to avoid parliamentary scrutiny and have broken may of our unwritten but established procedures have forced him out is a cause of great concern. He has been doing his job to ensure parliament is sovereign not a narrow clique around the PM - and he has done it very well.

For decades we have operated with an unwritten constitution which has been broadly followed by all parties but now the Brexit idea of taking back control is taking directions completely unforseen due to the total failure of the Tory party. Now they are suspending parliament to prevent any debates on (lack of) plans for No Deal No Idea brexit,
Forcing out a speaker for doing his job properly as an independent instead of government toady
abandoning current legislation and despite Boris promising to roll over bills planned for the next 5 weeks have not done so

The unintended consequences of the Referendum are out of control and we will all be at least in the short term much poorer for it

Misconduct in public office (breaking a law by refusing to carry out the wishes of Parliament) has a maximum sentence of life
Malfeasance in public office makes him personally liable for any losses incurring by business as a result of his action.

Note the likes of IDS who have been encouraging him are also guilty of conspiracy and can face sanctions. (Even discussing non-compliance is conspiracy to commit those offences).

No he has not he's been told to ask for a extension. If he hands both letters in he has fulfilled his part and a bit more

I think they'll rejoice in giving an extension to piss him off & see what the outcome of the next election is.

Nothing to do with Brexit , she’s a Blairite fanatic and will do anything to try and undermine Corbyn. The Lib Dem party or Tory Quisling Party is a good fit for her
