We've had ours down since April this year and its been fantastic over the summer, If you have kids pools - no more muddy water or bits of grass in the house. No cutting or watering It does get warm in the sun but it's not unbearable and quite nice to lay on when it's warm. We have a Shih-tzu and when he does mess on it we clean it with a hosepipe and artificial grass cleaner from eBay (£10 for 5l but it's concentrated and lasts ages) After rain you'll be surprised how quick it dries, kids regularly play out bare feet We used a company called DMR builders from Barnsley and would definitely recommend only downside is it's cost for us
Does your dog try to dig? We’re toying with idea and only thing puts me off is we have a springer who likes to dig from time to time

Horrific. Can't believe people want to remove something as natural and beautiful as grass and replace it with fxcking plastic. Genuinely do not get it. All imo obviously.
No, but he never did on real grass. Another note, don't skimp out on it, the difference between the cheap stuff and the more expensive is night and day, we went for a 40mm and it's perfect for the kids and pooch. I understand people are against the idea of the stuff and I wasn't particularly bothered my self (the wife's idea) but after the summer we've had and how much more we've used the garden I've got nothing but praise.
You can get plastic flowers as well. I walked past a garden the other day full of them. Well, I suppose you could say they are 'hardy perennials' but the garden's going to look even weirder than it already does in January.
Weve toyed with the idea of doing the same mate as my missus has her hands full with out 18 month old son and I work 10 hour shifts 6 days a week and the last thing i wanna do on my day off is have the cut the grass. Anyway to cut a long story short we didn't bother. The price alone was a massive put off as our back garden is a fairly big plot of land and we then happened to find out one of our neighbours who has the same style of home.and garden as us had done it and it looked ridiculous. I suppose if your garden isn't that big and its fairly level then itd look decent but it would look bloody awful on ours. As for a recommendation I'd say LazyLawn are a good place to start. As a courier I get about abit and I see their van/vans all over the place, and when we were thinking of having it done we heard no end of good stories about them.
Funny you say this as me and my missus owned 2 florists and we had a market stall on Hoyland and goldthorpe which we sold plants on. You wouldn't believe how many people asked us if we could get hold of artificial flowers and plants. Infact I always remember ar lass doing the flowers and wreaths for a fairly big funeral for a family darn Bolton and they wanted the whole thing doing with artificial flowers. God only knows what they did with them all, and in my opinion it looked terrible. We thought at the time they did it so they could sell them once the funeral was out of the way. It cost us a small fortune to do that funeral, we almost felt embarrassed giving them the bill. Too much money some fowk.
My missus wants the front lawn doing but not as keen myself. But if she wins and we do it then it will be good stuff and done properly. I agree with above, I've seen the good stuff done well and you would have to look closely to see it's artificial. And I've seen plenty of the cheap crap and it looks ridiculous. It's one of those purchases where you definitely get what you pay for.
Starting mine next week. Not looking forward to digging out 35m2 of soil about 100mm deep . Just finished putting about 40m2 of decking darn almost fecking killed me Btw where cheapest skip hire.
