Is to keep her name out of the squabbling going on in parliament. The individuals using her name as a way to score cheap political points should be ashamed. That is all.
MPs receiving death threats shouldn't highlight their colleague (and friend) who was murdered doing the job that they are doing while the Prime Minister stokes anger and resentment against them so that his friends don't lose a fortune on the pound crashing on October 31st?
What a shambles Tory’s calling one side traitors and enemies of democracy, the other side shouting back liars, should be in jail etc Johnson refuses to resign, opposition refuse to call for an election. Each side doing exactly what they are accusing the other side of Absolute joke. Surely you would only vote for one of these parties because you hated the other ones so much. There are no redeemable qualities in themselves that make them vote worthy
At least the position of not calling for an election is justifiable in the short term. What's Boris's excuse?
You're right about Johnson. What a pathetic, sad, rude, entitled buffoon using inflammatory language and using Jo Cox's name like that. He's going full on Trump. You can only imagine the cries of derision if Corbyn was behaving as he is. Yet some will support Johnson whilst claiming Corbyn is a danger. Laughable.
All that matters to Brexit voters now is getting it done, at the expense of everything else. If we had a Prime Minister who re-introduced workhouses, privatised the NHS, reduced tax for the rich to zero, sent all foreigners home 1st ,2nd, 3rd, and whatever generation - well so long as he delivered Brexit they would vote for him/ her. We do have a PM who is well capable of doing most if not all of those things and we have many who still think he is o.k.. As well as losing faith in MP's, personally I have lost a lot of faith in the population of this country. A sad state of affairs indeed.
I'm missing the part where Theresa May didn't call an General Election and the people didn't vote the Conservatives back in?
I didn't expect Johnson to go 'full on Trump' quite so quickly. The similarities between the choice of language and behaviour is really quite marked, right down to portraying himself as 'anti establishment', which is lapped up by some working class people who seem to fail to recognise an Etonian rich boy and his friends when they see one. On the other side we have LibDems and Swinson wanting to entirely ignore Brexit and the will of those who want to leave, and cancel the whole thing. Typical liberals. Yet it's the much maligned 'despotic, Stalinist, Marxist' Cobyn who wants a decent leave deal to be put alongside remain and to have a referendum. Handily Labour have a set of progressive policies to deal with a whole host of issues. Some will say I'm wrong withoutppresenting any evidence to the contrary. So who do I believe? Them, or my own lying eyes?
Technically, they formed a minority government with the DUP on a supply and confidence arrangement. Unfortunately, several of their MPs quit and another 21 were sacked, so they no longer have a majority. There *could* be another MP that commands a majority of the house to become PM - names such as Ken Clarke, Harriott Harmon and Caroline Lucas (among others) have been mentioned. This could happen. There *will* be another election in the coming months - probably December - after Boris has been weakened and his support split with the BxP Ltd.
A large proportion of the general public aren’t even capable of using a litter bin. It’s probably best not to let them make major policy decisions.
I was aiming more at Boris really for saying “the best way to honour Jo Cox is to get Brexit done” Honouring the woman who was an avid remainer killed by a far right nut job. Great job Boris. But I’d still hoped the Labour MPs could raise the point they were making and still keep Jo’s name out of it.
Who brought her name up first the two female Labour MP's or was it the Prime Minister replying to their comments?
