Anyone seen the interview with Sky sports and John Barnes? Why the Fuk do the media want to provoke people into jumping on the racism bandwagon?? John Barnes rightly told the reporter that there was nothing racist intended by Silva and I 100% agree, we live in a society where PC is absolutely mental and people can’t wait to throw the race card at people!! What slightly amuses me is that a lot of people out there who like to flash the ‘racist’ word at people come from an age where as kids they’ll have collected golly wogs and watched tv series where fun was often poked at black people in nothing more than being in jest........fast forward 30 year and the new generation are knuckle dragging neandothals according to reports! Yes we do have a problem with racism but I think it’s induced more by the media wanting to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Obviously all of the above is my humble little opinion
Sky sports and that talk sport are notorious for padding out their air time with garbage, were in a media age where most things are sensationalised and blown out of proportion, its a depressing drip feed of bad news, does me in
He probably shouldn’t have put it on social media with how sensitive the world is now. The media want to bring you down at any opportunity. Highlighting racism in football is only a good thing. But this is a little bit silly, they could potentially ruin one of the best young players career with this. It’s a look a like for god sake, when I heard the story over the radio I was expecting something bad. But it actually does have a look of the picture. Noting nasty in it. If he sent a picture to De Bruyne with a picture of angry kid nothing would be said. In this particular case there’s nothing different, unless I’m not educated enough to see where the racism is. Inappropriate for a footballer as high profile to put this on his social platform? Maybe yes, but racist? Not in my view. I just hope he can overcome this from the media and carry on being the brilliant footballer he is.
You're bang on. Being P.C to the point where you d aren't speak to someone of differing ethnicity for fear of being branded racist or saying something that might light the blue touch paper is equally racist. I think it's been pushed too far.
The main point us that he didn't mean to be racist. After all the hoo ha he now knows why and actually other people following the story now know why. So theres been education.. Dont see why it need ruin his career.
you cant even have a laugh with ur pals without upsetting some snowflake somewhere in the twitterverse. There is something fundamentally wrong with society. If it causes so much trouble and heartache for so many why not just ban social media. Get rid of twitter and fb and problem solved. Bet they wont do that.....
I see Kick it out have felt the need to get involved again. They really are a pathetic organisation. They should be concentrating on proper examples of racist abuse like at Hartlepool at the weekend rather than getting involved in something like this.
