So a good few results so far with Stoke losing and Huddersfield drawing. Huge incentive to win tomorrow to go six points clear of the bottom two and close the gap on those just in front of us.
We really shouldn't be worrying about any other teams at this stage. We need to start picking up points but as others have pointed out on here, where are the goals going to come from? Be a real tough test tomorrow, they play some decent football so expect them to have periods where they dominate possession but hopefully we can get in their faces a bit and stop them.
1/1 for an away team against a team within a few points are shocking odds. Not very often you see a home team with highest odds outside the Prem and Celtic
Bet365 have been accommodated and have now trimmed us to 14/5 (2.8 to 1). That rates us as having a 26% chance of winning. Brentford have lost their star striker Maupay this season and have scored only one more goal than we have. It has to be noted that they have conceded only 6 goals to our 12. Interestingly, while all four of our goals have come at home, only one of Brentford's five goals has been scored away (in the 1-0 win at Middlesbrough). Reading reports of Brentford's playing style it seems they are strong on possession stats but are creating few chances, relatively speaking. I have a suspicion (hope?) that that might just help us if we are able to execute our preferred swift counter-attacking style. There is probably a fair chance that one goal either way will be enough to win the game. Given that Brentford's points and goals tally are not very far superior to our own, there doesn't seem that much justification for Barnsley to be nearly three times the price of Brentford for the win. For that reason, although we are no certainty to win I think we have to rate the value bet in the game and the 14/5 is worth taking to modest stakes!
It's a day for the waterproofs. No sign of the heavy rain ending. I doubt we will have a pitch inspection, but at least even we won't use the sprinklers today.
Oakwell will look like a burst water main too. This heavy rain that started yesterday and has gone on all night is showing it will last till at least 5 o clock. No condition to try and play in.
Haha, was only thinking about the bloody sprinklers this morning. I still wouldn't put it past BFC to have the them on full flow!!
Betfair sportsbook have us and newcastle to win at 28 to 1. Place the bet, if we win go on betfair exchange and go big on laying a Newcastle win, so you win either way (as long as we win first obviously).
If you can be ars@d you can follow the online bookies deals by setting up new email addresses and get a guaranteed return. You have to be prepared to put the effort in and have a wad of cash to make the bets.
just had a look on smarkets, they have us at shorter odds to beat Derby. I know that is an exchange but most are the same, I think the bookies have it wrong here
