Can we agree with the opposition before kick off that we’ll just forego ours. Just to save a bit of time setting up at corners and the like. Just cuts out the rigmarole of having to kick it into touch, straight to the keeper or straight out of play.
Free kicks can be worked on. Mowatt needs to stop trying to bend everything though he's enough power to put a boot through one.
Or line it up for Thiam, like they did at Wigan. If Thiam hits it well, and on target, it’s going in, nobody would stop it.
For me, the delivery of most corners seems ok - just there’s absolutely nobody on the end of them at all. Ever.
Our big lads just seem to stand still between the 6 yard box and the penalty spot. It means that they're easy to mark and have no momentum if they do get their head on it. We need them steaming in from the edge of the area.
Even the useless referee forgot to mark out the ten and use his shaving foam. Dunt think he thought it was worth us taking the free kick either..
I expected us to be a huge threat from set pieces this season after the signings of sibbik, Anderson and diaby. Been a huge disappointment so far
I think its our delivery. Since we sold Connors left foot, I doubt we've created 10% of the chances we did from set pieces. After a while seeing it boomed into touch, into the keepers hands or failing to beat the near post, your attackers just aren't going to have the same will or energy to keep running into the box in vain.
It doesn't really matter if you stroll, run at pace, jog or just stand still if the ball doesn't beat a first man, stay in play, or evade an easy claim from the keeper.
Not having ago at Mowatt, he’s been one of our better performers so far this season, but his delivery at set pieces is Rhubarb. From corners the ball needs to be played in with pace, not floated in. Why oh why when the conditions are shocking are we moving the ball away from the keeper. Surely you’ve to put pressure on the keeper.
The ball was like a wet piece of soap yesterday and we didn't have one shot on target apart from the goal.
