Glad you love it as much as we do! Some great restaurants and bars with great people. We know the Round Up well and the Irish bar Bradys. See the same people here year after year. Some way to go to catch you up for visits though!!
Villa Medici my favourite restaurant (for years I thought it was a doctors) Roundup, Bradys, Six, Imprevisto, A Boa Vida my favourite bars. And Boneca of course up in the cliffs. Sue in A Boa Vida is a good laugh. Ask her if she remembers Andy the Cyclist and his struggles with his wedding ring
Villa Medici is opposite our hotel but never been. Our favourites are Jota Lita, Happy’s, A Gale and Elliott’s in Monte Carvoeiro. Never really had a bad meal though to be honest. Boneca bar is stunning, especially at sunset.
Had the same feeling many a time Icer, trouble is we have those that will say good riddance or your not a reight fan and then a few days later be complaining abart how crap our attendances are, or if we do get a decent crowd they are all gloryhunters. Yer just cant win wi some. Once you limit your attendance then I would imagine it would get easier and easier to bring it to a close altogether.
It’s got like watching "Groundhog Day" on repeat. Yer get to the 100th showing and you know nowt will have changed
This is about right. Game day experience has meant for me picking lad up from Manchester and we can talk football while we travel over. Then we have the hours wait in the car park afterwards to linger in the disappointment. The car park has made a step change backwards.
Seriously regretting my decision to pay for a car park season ticket this season. Its downright painful and compounded badly by the decision to block the underpass so traffic cant take the slip road onto Harboro hill down to Asda, so we all have to crawl painfully up to the Alhambra roundabout to u turn back. I can't contemplate going to the Derby game. I have to travel for an overnighter in Cambridge for work and can't risk being stuck in the car park until gone 10.30 and getting to Cambridge after 1am. Besides, following the theme of the thread, I just don't feel any desire to want to go out of my way like that to make the game.
Despite the large number of responses to your thread, you can do what you like and I am not bothered. Nobody really cares. Are we bovvered? Not a bit ... but if you let us know the games you are gracing with your attendance then I am sure there will be some sort of ceremony to welcome you....
People do care though, hence the number of responses. The people at the club should take note when supporters with 40 years service feel this way.
This thread isn't about people throwing the toys out and making statements like "I'm never going again or I'm not going again until...." Its genuine long time supporters feeling disillusioned. I think I've missed less than 20 league games home and away over the last 3 seasons. So I would say I have a decent attendance record. As of tonight I will have missed 3 home games this season and only been to 2 away. I know exactly where @icer is coming from. I've lost the "buzz", for a multitude of reasons I suppose. I've follower us up down the country in more than 1 relegation season too, so it has to be more than that.
I think the fact you’ve mentioned Cavare and Pinillos as two of our better players highlights one of our main problems. Collins doesn’t have Championship experience either.
