This isn’t the best side but it is a million miles away from being the worst side in years. I’ve seen some dross over the years, and I’ve only been going to games for 25 years - theres plenty will have seen worse than me. This side isn’t so awful. It makes awful errors, that’s a different thing.
Some of that defending for the 1st and the penalty was the worst I've seen for many years. It really told we sold last seasons center backs and goalkeeper all 3 would walk straight back in this team
1st March 2014 - Tom Kennedy, Frimpong, Brek Shea, Jacob Mellis once started in the same game for Barnsley, needless to say we lost 5-0.
Seen plenty of shi te, in my time, but i just, just tek sum Prozak works wonders being a Barnsley Fan.
In fairness Lyndsey did produce some howlers in a reds shirt and don't forget he wanted to go for more money. So did Pinnock and Davies.I can't knock them as individuals it was there right to choose.
Pinnock and lindsay wouldn't sign new deals so we got shut as far as I'm aware they never forced a move, but I do understand the decision to sell. Lindsay made a couple of howlers Burnley away oxford away but he and pinnock had a great partnership pinnock was immense and made very few howlers last season, davies produced some great saves last season we had one of the best defensive records last season in league one if not the best. You cant get rid of your keeper and both center backs then bring in players who haven't played at this level and expect them to hit the ground running it was a gamble by the owners so far hasn't paid off.
I agree redrum with most of that.It was a good partnership in league one but no guarantee how they would fare in the Championship. We all knew Davies was going and it became obvious the other 2 also wanted out.The recruitment of the centre halves in nothing to do with the owners you know that.( read sticky above). Its been done to death now Stendel and the recruitment team select the players the board sign the checks. If Stendel said he wanted centre half x and the board said we can't afford him that's another issue.Don't forget these players aren't selected by sticking a pin in a football album. They're identified, hours and hours of tapes watched then watched live in game situations. If the players are good enough for Daniel I will back his judgement. I didn't go to the Carlisle game due to illness but according to reports Halme for example "looks like he's never seen a ball before".I was quite worried at those comments.I've now watched him in his games since and I think we've got an absolute steal. He will go from strength to strength and hopefully the team and coach will also.
