The fan was my mate. I used to go with him to matches but gave over in cold nights as it used to affect me It was Jeff Wroe of Elsecar / Jump. A retired fireman he always seemed fit but how can you tell Shocking news this morning and I have not accepted it as yet RIP Jeff a good family man
Very sad - awful - and I know he was a mate of yours Homer, but are you sure all his nearest and dearest are happy for him to be named? His grandson is receiving condolences on the Tiverton Preedy Facebook page too that said, so it seems to be known. Such a horrendous thing to happen and pales the football into complete insignificance. Sleep well Mr Wroe sir. You reds.
His son has rang me this morning. I have let you all know because if you are paying tribute to him then you know who you are paying tribute to. Not the time for protocol
Are they or anyone setting up a collection for him mate? Know quite a few who’d like to throw some money in for his family
I was feeling sorry for myself as I had to miss the game last night, watching it on the telly instead. This got replaced by utter joy at the late equaliser. Ultimately, it's totally irrelevant. This news puts everything into it's proper perspective. Incredibly sad news. R.I.P. Mr Wroe. Deep condolences to your family and friends.
The club have also named him now. I wasn’t trying to have a dig Homer. Apologies if that was the impression. I’m very sorry for the loss of your friend.
So sorry to hear this. Jeff was a couple of years above me at school when I lived in Elsecar .RIP Jeff
