How we could do with someone of his type. Today he blatantly grabbed a foot and avoided a booking. He held on to the ball to stop us getting on with it and again avoided a booking. Indeed. But, in my head anyway, “knowing where the net is” means he’s a regular scorer and given the stats provided on this thread of him scoring 2 in 126 appearances, he’s clearly not that.
Yes his goal in this game was his first in over 3 years. It's beside the point really though as he's a holding midfielder, and a top quality one for this division. The only reason we've managed to keep him is probably his awful disciplinary record.
He learned his trade at old trafford the masters of cheating and dirty tricks. He should be good at it.....
Chris Martin's another one of that type. I really do hate that man, as a footballer, he's dirty, plays the ref like a fiddle.... But I so wish he played for us.
