Agreed in the sense he was likely told its Schmidt or nothing.

Bit like offering a starving man food he doesn't like or no food.

My information is straight from the departed horses mouth ( 2 of them) not through club PR. HC has no input in the targets selected and chooses from a list supplied. He can conduct further scoring but not suggest names outside the shortlist.

No you missed the part where he can agree to players shortlisted ir not have any players. Choice at the end of the process does not equate to input into the process.

Where do players like Radlinger and Bahre fit into this? I agree it's clear that the majority of players are chosen from a predefined list. However there does seem to be some exceptions. So to suggest he has no input in identifying players would be false.

Stendel himself was recruited via the same method and supposedly fully bought into the plan. I have mixed feelings about his departure because at this stage we really do not know how good he is. Whoever was manager of that squad last year would have been expected to gain promotion and this year was always going to be the test. Yet it seems harsh to judge him now when he is effectively building a new team, a young one at that. However we have not looked organised and the players do not seem to be playing how he wants (for long enough). If we follow the same plan, then it won't make any difference, except things could get worse whilst a new coach gets to know this squad of players. Can't believe I am saying this but we could do with Mark Robins back, though I doubt he would come.

You admittedly didn’t even attend last season. You have told us you jumped off the ship after relegation and jumped back on this summer.

    Great principles, Orsen.

    What about Bahre?
Thought it was readily accepted he was a Stendel pick?

I suspect from what more ITK posters have said that the restrictions were lifted for a few discreet occasions my information did not come from the current HC

This has been the process for the last 4 years.

So - if it's let the manager down this year then it has to be credited for putting together the best squad in division 1 last year with very little input from the manager.

You can't have it both ways just because the manager that liked a pint in town is sacked.

the process is the process. It works in L1 if you don’t adjust it you will get relegated from the Championship. The plan also seems to have changed. We have stopped signing players who are young but with 150 games played to signing players who have played less than a handful. The plan is fine but needs adjustment or any manager will fail in a higher league.
