I'd be careful Alex, the owners won't be happy... Great to see one of our players speaking out in support. I suspect many others will do the same.
This is the problem. Some of those players have played the best stuff of their career under Stendel and clearly really liked him. The club treating him like they have isn't going to make players want to stay. Oh, sorry, I forgot. That's fine anyway cos the sooner we achieve market value on the maturation of these assets the better
Be careful you will upset folk, although I agree if he had worked with him got him fit we would have stood a miles better chance instead of playing him on the left wing and then shipping him out, but it's done now not the time.
It's just like Andy Ritchie all over again. He persisted with gunho tactics and had us propping up table. He was sacked and there was outrage. The same has happened to Stendel. There are points to be gained just through tweeking things and the board obviously feel the same. Thanks for the menories Daniel but the club goes on. I don't think the board want to be relegated and a lot of the other nonsense I've read and listened to. Managers come and go. It's a results business. I hope they get the right man in now and bring in three or four free agents. Four or five wins to keep us in the hunt then push on in january.
Haven't you read half of the threads? It's the free agent thing that's been the last straw...one way or another.
I wouldn't read into Mowatt's twitter post either the players had a meeting behind Stendel's back and he publicly says they aren't up to it in spite of some inane tactics and team selections. Toby Sibbick was never going to be Franz Beckanbauer. Styles should have played when Mcgeehan got injured. They should have tried Styles Mowatt and Mcgeehan from the start. Three centre backs and two wing backs. Just little things and biggest dropped bollock Bahre as captain. Not so rosy when you break it down. I wish Stendel well. I won't be a hypocrite. He had to go.
Wasn't Stendel brought in for the way he played more than any other reason? I thought the recruitment was based on fitting into the style of play that the club had identified they wanted to play.
Managing these young lads in the 5th richest league in Europe is like climbing the Town Hall wearing only roller skates and boxing gloves. I think he tried everything, and kept trying things to the end. He should have been given more time.
