Radio Sheffield asked if we’d go on live earlier today to further clarify our statement. For those that haven’t seen it or not heard the full clip I’ve attached it here (uploading didn't work but a Soundcloud link should do the job).

    Spot on.

Sorry to be that guy though, but Daniel actually wore an England top once Germany got knocked out. ;)

    oh I miss him already.

Didn't he wear a Germany top first though, and then return with an England one once they'd been knocked out?

    You maybe right you know.

The interview you gave was brilliant and hopefully Daniel hears what you’ve said about him. I don’t think he truly knew how much this fan base actually cared for him. I can imagine he’s been an emotional man over these last few days, not only losing his job but the amount of support he’s got from us. Like yourself I’ve never seen anything like it for a departing manager.

I knew he'd worn A shirt during the World Cup but I shamelessly stole the info from one of the posts earlier today (might have been @Jimmy viz )

He can go and get bent anorl.

Claims he’s one of us and all that but refers to the club as “they”.

Not a fan of that bloke at all.

I do recall him wearing a Germany shirt then mucking in with an England one after Germany got knocked out.

He's by far the most likeable manager I recall us having (Bobby Collins was when my roll call began!). Great memories of him going nuts when Green made a tackle. Jumping up to head the ball in every challenge on the touchline, and the clips of his competitiveness... playing table tennis against a young fan, the assault course he struggled to complete and the head tennis set up with teams from the squad. Hated losing and I can't imagine how hard he's found it from the start of the season.

We often forget the human. He will have been with his family for a good period in the summer, so missing them even more, most likely. Then knowing a pending court case was coming while trying to get some experience from the board and seeing a very young team struggle to do what he was asking of them despite some obvious base talent.

Absolute legend, and I can't think of any instance whatsoever that merits such a legend and gentleman to be on the receiving end of the most terse scornful uncaring statement that has ever announced the departure of a manager from our club.

Until Bobby Collins arrived, I never knew that in Scotland every word started with an F.
