After seeing some more brand exposure for the Club and international recognition, Chief Executive Gauthier Ganaye said: “Thanks to our new international ownership, it has opened avenues across the world and we are really pleased to be featured in one of the most famous places on the globe, New York! We aim to continue to expand our brand internationally and within the UK, this is just the beginning of a long project for us all.

I'm sorry, but you're changing history. It was sold as part of an international marketing campaign. When it was pointed out on here that it was a waste of time, and that efforts would be far better concentrated on advertising season tickets to local fans both present and lapsed there was much made by many of how valuable this was as part of that international campaign. How these new owners would be securing investment and advertising from abroad. There was no mention of "a bit of fun."

I said i felt marketing globally would have a positive impact on the club back then. I say today, that global marketing would have a positive impact on the club. No change in mindset and no change in history. At that time it was declared how this came about and it made sense and i didn't feel i had been sold anything not delivered

Now just in case my point was unclear, my expectations of what i was being sold haven't changed. People explained what the marketing in times square was and it didn't let me down or make me feel i had been sold something wrong. Now what i do feel is, i have been let down on is delivering competitive team and changing our plan to be even less competitive. Thats where i feel let down and not through a marketing advert the purpose of which hasn't changed.

Back to my question, do you feel that the advert promised you something that hasn't been delivered? Im genuinely interested to hear.

I must admit I’m surprised you are hammering on about this Jay. Sometimes it’s best to leave threads where they belong .

I didn't believe it, but many did. You did. Read the thread through (and there are a number of others).

It wasn't sold to us a bit of fun liked you've claimed earlier today. You didn't take it as a bit of fun as you've claimed earlier today, you took the club at face value, that it was, as they clearly claimed, the beginning of a global marketing strategy.

I took it as bullshi*t. Which it was.

Either it was a vanity project, open to any tourist, and screened for just a few seconds, or it was photoshopped, which to me it still looks like. Either way, it wasn't what the club claimed in their statement.

I don't like that many of my fellow fans had the wool pulled over their eyes. I don't like that we have owners who would do that. I think it's an important issue in understanding who runs our football club and how they treat fans of our club who spend their hard earned money on supporting them and a lot of their emotions invested in them.

Was just having a look at New City Capitals website. One of the few images they have on their slider is of BFC. Interestingly an image of us lifting the playoff final trophy, a considerable time before we were acquired.

Very surprised a company of such modest T/O (ours) is actually referred to on the site.

Jay i think your missing my point. I wasn't sold anything. I was encouraged we had new owners with a vision. I saw marketing globally as positive. I didn't buy into anything new because they had already said they wouldn't changed much. I don't feel let down by the lack of marketing from the club back then and now in hindsight. Its not the issue i have with the club. I feel let down by the on field 'project' coming a far second to the generation of pure income. The bit i feel let down with is that they haven't delivered a step forward in our ability to be competitive. They have made the same mistakes we thought we had learnt from. The one thing right now i dont feel i have been oversold and underdelivered is advertising in times square. But i do get that you are looking for further evidence of whether they are or are not investing in our club, and thats ok.

The point I'm making isn't about Times Square. It's about appearances not necessarily being what they seem:

Our name in lights in Times Square.
"We aim to continue to expand our brand internationally and within the UK, this is just the beginning of a long project for us all."
"Most Successful Transfer Window in the club's history"
"Every penny will be reinvested in the squad"
    Billionaires and Billy Beane

Does anyone really know what we've got and where it's going?

Well i think we know the owners won't put a penny into the club from their own funds. Its clear they want 100% self sufficient so they don't have to pay owt. Thats why i think loanees and experience ditched, because it offers no income and in fact can even mean we spend more. I fully expect them to close the academy or downgrade it as they won't do a Cryne and fund it themselves.
