We can do both, I know I will. It's not even supporting Daniel as such; that isn't possible when he wont be there but more a case of letting our owners know that we do not approve of the way he has been treated and the lack of support he received since getting us promoted.
I think they know we don't approve. Stendel knows we don't approve. The players know we don't approve. No point regurgitating it on match day.
I don't think they do but what is worse is that I don't think they care. Agreed. Agreed. What better time to send a message to the club? It's not like we are talking about invading the pitch and smashing the place up. The suggestion is some chants, thats all. I don't see anything wrong with it.
Oakwell needs a positive atmosphere if we're going to get anything out of this season. We're not cut adrift just yet, but we need to get some good results sharpish, the players will absolutely pick up on any form of animosity from the stands, regardless of who it's aimed at. Do you really want to risk relegation just to scream at a faceless entity who could give a solitary fuq what you think? Don't you want to give the players every fighting chance they can get?
Tbh the players will.probably still be in Stendel mode As long as the chants are positive I don't see the problem. I think people need to show their feelings and unfortunately it will be at that match.
Is it just me or is vesp77 the ‘yes man’ that the board is looking for? He’s putting a good case forward for the vacant role.
Totally agree. It would be ludicrous not to expect some kind of reaction from the fans, after all that's happened.
Ha, no I just can't see the point in creating a potentially toxic feeling in the ground when we're desperate for results. Home form will be key and we need to show solidarity with the players, not with a coach who's no longer part of the club.
Personally I think a verse of ‘Daniel Stendel’s red & white army’ followed by ‘stand up for Daniel Stendel’ with the whole ground joining in finished off with a ‘you reds’ in the first 5 minutes & then we get back to supporting the side against Swansea would be perfect
We love you Barnsley, we do We love you Barnsley, we do We love you Barnsley, we do Oh Daniel we loved you. But only once or twice, not all game.
Got to agree with that, The treatment of Daniel was wrong but it’s a board decision not fans singing for him to go and he knows that . Thing is I don’t know of a Football club that’s achieved anything whilst crowd have been openly hostile spilling into games etc . Hopefully we don’t get into the Venckys, Steve Dale or Oyston situation but if we do look like going down that road then that’s the time to openly protest imo , If there’s a tribute to Daniel at the game v Swansea I’ll join in . But I’ll not be joining in any songs denouncing the board when we just don’t know what went wrong neither will I be singing any vitriol against any individual owner. I still don’t believe these owners are here to make a few quod on a yo yo team from Champ to first div . I think they’re making mistakes and hopefully they will be rectified but I’ll wait and see , I think we’re in danger of creating a toxic atmosphere towards our owners and it may bite us , they’ll be plenty of time to protest at end of season , right now we need to support what we’ve got .
