I've never really understood that. I could understand if they'd said "we want someone who plays positive, entertaining football." But to actually say they wanted a pressing style... that feels a bit technical. Why would they want that specifically? At the risk of doing them a disservice, are they really so clued up about the beautiful game? Or did they know that the press was Stendels preferred system, so jumped on board and embraced it? Whatever the answer, they haven't followed it through into this season in the transfer window (I assume due to the cost involved), so I doubt they would have been on Stendels back if he'd changed the system.
That's not what we were discussing. You were chastising Barnsley fans for wanting to plunge the club in to debt, to the tune of £30 million, which you have since admitted was arbitrary. They haven't, your whole premise is simply fake news. And your belief that the tactics Daniel employed are inferior to those of your own is arrogance, however much you wish to argue otherwise. There are important issues that need discussing regarding the current ownership of the club. Your fabrications of the concerns of the Barnsley fan base aren't part of that.
I'm not rewriting history to suit a personal agenda and I have no doubt they WOULD have been on his back if he changed tactics. Daniel was claiming we needed experience in his post match interview after the first preseason friendly at Stalybridge. None were signed, not a one. I also believe I can no longer be classed as a Happy Clapper!
But the status quo does not remain. The CEO (GG) has moved on, and a new CEO is in place. Frankly, even at the time, I was not happy with non-professionals telling the professionals how to play the game. Surely, it is the role of the professionals to decide which is the best way to play in order to get results, and it is the role the non-professionals to decide whether they are happy with the professional's choices. Once they start crossing lines, you are going to get this problem.
If it was simply fake news, why would I have told you. It is not fake news. It is an example through which I seek to my my point clearer. Almost every poster who posts on here will eventually post an alternative formation or tactics. I do hope that you will be telling each and every one of them how arrogant they are. I mean I might get a persecution complex unless you are prepared to do so.
The status quo DOES remain. This wasn't a policy demanded from the CEO unilaterally. There has been numerous interviews from Paul Conway where he has reiterated the policy and why it influenced their selection of Daniel Stendel. I've said my piece on the subject now and refuse to be drawn on this anymore. Others may voice alternative viewpoints, as is their right.
Sorry, I must have missed the Paul Conway interviews. In any event, I was talking about my opinion, that is still as stated.
Everyone will. No one else thinks the manager deserves sacking because he doesn't adhere to their preferred formation.
Every time you put phalanges to keyboard dear boy. And you're becoming a frightful bore. After weeks of it, now claiming that is not the content of your posts.
No, I'm claiming that I never told Stendel what to do. I'm simply claiming that the tactics he was using weren't working, and I have gone into great detail about why I think that, some would even say boring detail.
