Faded in the last 20 minutes but allowed McGeehan to roam who should have scored twice as a result. Looked very comfortable in that 3, I hope he can play 3 games in a week!

Dougall has been missed and was one of the reasons we played better today. But it’s no coincidence that as he tired in the last 20 mins Swansea looked much better. He probably should have been replaced on 60mins though we don’t really have a replacement.
I think had Stendell still been in charge he would have featured today but we will never know

KD was the glue that yesterday’s performance was built on. From the first whistle he was organising and encouraging. He does the little things that nobody else at the club can do. His reading of the game is excellent and he breaks up play really well.
The team needs a fit Kenny.

That's it he had been out so long he needed a couple of u23 games. Then we had a two week break. I'm sure the man who can't be named (how petty everyone is avoiding naming him) would have played him yesterday.

I’d be amazed if Stendel thought he was 100% fit & refused to play him especially when we’ve been short of options in midfield with McGeehan injured.

I’m pretty sure Dougall only played his first U23 game just before the international break & only lasted about 60 minutes as well.

I imagine it was just a case of Dougall thinking he was fitter & wanting to play sooner as most players would

i dont think there is any conspiracy here other than after very long period out, no preseason, the coaching team felt it right to give him U23 game time first. Im sure depending on what angle we choose we can find a position to argue. The same could be said for Hecky with Mallon, Knassmuller. We could question why Thiam, Green, Williams are straight out of the squad, why Schmidt didn't feature, etc etc, Its a great position that Murray has to have so many of the squad now available and the U23s now knocking on the door.

Stendell was probably thinking abart rest of season and bringing him back steadily, still a long way to go, whearas Murray has got the job for a length of string, get him in nowt to lose may help him get job permanent.

    Just a thought.

Just seen where Dougall will be 27 and out of contract next summer...

Anyone think he'll get another deal here?

If he wants a better deal NO,

If Spreadie McSpreadsheet has got a list of replacements then NO.

I’d guess he’ll get offered a contract by us, if nothing else than to help get a fee for him. Whether Dougall signs it is another thing.

I believe KD did drop a level slightly for League 1 last season, so much will depend on where we are come May.

Amazed at how quickly some people are to forget we have a long term plan & are now ready to ditch it after a couple of hard months. My recollection was that we were all on board with the plan (DNA), certainly were last season.
Also don't remember DS having a problem KD last season, now suddenly DS wasn't a big fan.

IMO the plan is a good one, just needs some tweaks. Yes we could do with some experience, but if in 2 years time we want an entertaining high energy team, that presses high and with emphasis on attack, lets not throw it in the bin after a bit of hardship. We've been outplayed on 2 possibly 3 occasions this season. Would be a step backwards to go down the root of changing our style.

Never been a supporter of the plan, ever. Yoof against men, nar.. Where the only constant is that its always in a constant state of flux. Where other clubs get the fruits of our labour. When any player who gets any kind of consistency and plays well week in week out, he's then sold.. And the fans are asked not only to except, without question, but to blindly support any stance the club decides to take.
If its such a great system then how come everyone else isn't doing it... Or are we just too smart for everyone

Nar.. the fans of Barnsley fc have been sold lemon, And its actual only real purpose is, it allows the owners never to have to put their hands in their pockets... That's all it is, when all the smoke and mirrors.. and the "just get behind em" bravado is removed

Whether its a week, month, year or longer the plan wants putting in the bin where it belongs and allow the fans to watch and support a team that competes on a level playing field.. choose what league we find ourselves in..

He signed a two year deal with further year option in our favour. They will at least enact that if he won’t sign another one to ensure a fee you’d imagine.

Might depend upon him staying injury free too.
