Oh dear. Though his collective replacements conspired to score an own goal and let a player have a free header from twelve yards out today - so we’re not in a position to gloat much.
I'm not gloating. He is a very limited player who took the money before more people realised it. I'm glad he came off the bench to limit Stoke's points haul though.
We can't really take piss out of him for a bad bit of defending when our own centre half put it in his own net defending his near post.
Uncomfortable with this thread. Good player that helped massively in one of the best bfc defences I’ve ever seen last season. Some players take time to adjust/ it simply doesn’t work out at some clubs. Doesn’t mean they’re suddenly bad and certainly doesn’t warrant tarnishing their time with us.
It's a post by sky sports about a former player, I'd expect to see it posted in here. when he scored other week that was also posted on this forum. I hope Stoke and Lindsay continue their bad run of form if it means we have a better chance of finishing above them.
He played for us. He rejected a new deal to join Stoke. We are currently next to each other in the table. He made a mistake that cost them the match. I’m not sure why it wouldn’t be posted here.
He rejected a new deal because we want to pay league 1 wages in the championship. Nothing wrong with commenting, it’s the hand wringing that is really weird. Won’t convince me otherwise but fill your boots.
Made an error that cost his team a goal. That puts him on a par with Diaby & still has him well behind Anderson & Halme
I don't need to convince you of anything. And I'm not filling my boots. I think many of us on here like to keep up to date with departed players. See the Bradshaw thread for example. Very relevant to us also what with Stoke being in the bottom three and him costing them a point. Well played, Liam.
He really wasn't that good, Pinnock was far the superior defender in my opinion of course. Granted he had a decent go at league one but I felt he would always struggle at this level. He made a few costly errors last season.
He wouldn't even discuss a contract, so there was no deal to reject if I have it right. As such, thanks for memories Liam, but now as you playing for a rival I hope your mistakes send Stoke down - nothing weird about holding that sentiment - in fact its more weird trying to defend him because it fits your wider narrative - that somehow we short changed him.
It's a weird world now isn't it where the club stewards are lambasted for keeping us ticking over financially and living within our means whilst players ditch us for more money to clubs no better off and are defended like saints.
Not been watching us that long then. I assume. Wouldn’t come anywhere near the defences I’ve seen since 1967.
I work with a Brentford fan. He's slagging off Pinnock and says their fans really don't rate him. I've told him that they should give him chance to settle and develop. The same goes for Lindsay. They might both come good yet. We've seen some fantastic center backs over the last 40 years since I've been watching. (Macca, Evans, Futch, Stones, etc. ) Few of them looked great initially.
Agree with you here! He and Davies have cashed in while their stock was high. Can't blame them at all. Our problem is that Lindsay and Pinnock left so much as the replacements aren't as good. That tells it's own story, our two best defenders from last season can't even get a game in the championship and our replacements are worse.
Yeah but how much can you trust that? You only have to look on here after match days and posters are blaming random players for the goals we concede and sometimes I’m like “what?”. I think Liam’s main issue is his lack of pace and that’s what will be his downfall in this division. He’s a top end league 1/lower end championship defender but that’s what we are as a club at the minute too.
No red rum I'm still here just been working away for a bit so not seen any football this year and my Scottish interest has diminished a bit
