I hate threads slagging off our players, no need it wont make him try harder. All players will try their best to improve so they can play at the highest level possible to earn as much money as they can, players get better and form, confidence, clicking with other players makes a difference and then we will get an offer for him and the BBS go in to meltdown. It happened to Hourihane enough said.
He's been crap so far. Rubbish. Doesn't mean he will be in the long run. His loan at Doncaster suggests he has something about him, let's hope he shows that
Definitely the MOTM against Fulham My MOTM against Fulham. He has got it in him and would be nice to see him do it again.
had a good game against Fulham. Looks a confidence player to me which is hard in a losing side. Can’t see any lack of effort on his part though.
Plenty of threads from folks like you slagging Conor off a few years ago. None of current lot lack effort. Just ability at this level.
Personally I think people warmed to him after the Fulham match because he courted the crowd when he was subbed. He basically acted like an arsh*le and got booked, but on the other hand he brought the fans together and I think it was actually a good thing. If you analyse his play in that match, he lost the ball every time he got it, like he has in most matches since. He's been crap. But that doesn't mean he's a crap player. There have been many Barnsley players over the years who have taken time to reach their potential.
People should stop slagging him off because he is just like the majority of our squad, inexperienced but has potential. It takes time and many many games to reach full potential. Even at the top level this is evident , a couple of years ago I was convinced that Raheem Sterling wasn’t up to it but with more experience and good coaching he has improved no end. Hourihane as already mentioned on this thread, is another great example of that. He couldn’t tackle a paper bag when he first came here but that was just one part of his game that improved massively. Alfie Mawson is another , looked all over the place at times until experience kicked in. It all takes time but as we all know time is something that modern society barely allows !
My apologies. Great let’s hope he shows up once in every 12 games then. Probably when we are in league one.
Good that you acknowledge your mistake. a young player making a big step up and struggling a bit. We have been here many times before. From Nicky Eaden to Conor and even Ronnie back in the day. Slagging off young lads learning the game tends to bite people in the ass
Let’s hope so. Genuinely not seen anything from him so far. Hopefully in less than a couple of years I’m having this post quoted back to me to show me what an idiot I am.
