These new owners have set us back years. All sorts of negative all time records are going to be beaten this season and I don't think they care at all as long as they can keep asset stripping.
I regret buying my season ticket. I have stopped going to away games for the first time in my adult life. I've even started missing home games. As it stands the only thing making me think i should renew my season ticket is the prospect of losing my seat should I want to go again in the future.
Great post. As my posting name implies I live in North Leeds kids (with ST's) aged 11 and 14 both play for Horsforth St Margarets, teammates / schoolmates mostly dirty Leeds fans. They have gone from love to hate very quickly. Right at the age when Saturday afternoon with their dad at the footy should,be fun. Now it's a chore, not helped by the amount of games they can watch on the tellybox my son takes in on the chin kind of likes being different. My daughter not so much - I coach her team and am now used to the stick from the girls. Will they still come in 2/3/4 years time? Debatable. And I hate that - one thing we have bonded over since the JPT and it is being squandered by our penny pinching owners. Cheers Mr Conway et al. Dicks.
How do you get to 26 points? Excluding the freak first game we got 5 points from the last 13. Keep that up for the rest of the season and we will struggle to get to 20
Sorry but sadly she will have to take the good with the good like you have and many more of us, but i get what you're saying, it is hard staying positive.
The most frustrating thing in all this is the last 2 times we were promoted. If we had kept the squad together then we would have by now been a steady mid table Championship team. It’s the constant self imposed fire sales which take us back years. It’s complete madness. We let players like Scowen go for nothing, who has been a regular championship player ever since, because we didn’t want to pay him 8k a week. We then replace him with players on 5k and a £1m transfer fee who couldn’t lace his boots. This is one example in loads of examples. The Mawsons and the Hourihanes were always going to go, it’s the others that either didn’t want to go or we’re just flogged for peanuts that grinds my gears. Nonsensical sales for **** money which were then replaced with untried foetus from non comparable leagues with fingers crossed. I’m not buying the business aspect either, that we have to live within our means. It doesn’t make sense to keep yo yoing from League one to championship disaster. It’s not going to be long before people stop going. The lack of respect for the fans is unreal. This improved fan experience that Conway talks about should start on the pitch. The opportunities we have had to become a stable Championship team this last decade have been unreal, but we’ve just p!ssed it away every time to make a few million quid. Well when I say a few million, there’s over £10m gone missing at least.
They should have put in a degree of investment and kept last years progressive squad together from Potts onwards , they would probably made more money on the players sold . It would have stabilised the club
I went to my cousins wedding do...in leeds yesterday. The majority were of course leeds fans but there was also a smattering of bristol city and wednesday fans. They were all aghast and had no idea the premis of of our flog it and replace with kids and u24 rule recruitment rule. I found myself explaining to them (the plan ) and none if them got it......at all...not one. Especially the bit where we cant get in a couple a couple of loans in. It sounded the more the evening went on , as though i was defending our board....but i wasnt merely trying to express to them what the plan was. A couple of them just said "we feel so sorry for you, but what are you fans doing about it?" I had to think hard before i stated.... well, we are expressing our views on fan sites on line. ....but thats it. They then put " marching all together...leeds , leeds, leeds" song on and i had to get out for a bit!! So sympathy from others now but no answers, we really are in a mess at the minute.
