It was a very poor squad for sure, but remember we played a huge amount of players that year. We did somehow fashion 9 wins, including 4 away from home. And we also managed to score 44 goals somehow, while shipping 77.

We managed to only get relegated by 5 points (though gd may have been an issue).

We can't judge this current team til the end of the season but at this point defensively we're not very good and we don't create many good chances, and when we do, Woodrow aside, we rarely look like scoring.

Does this team have more potential... I'd hope so given how young they are in comparison. But looking at the two sides of 2013/14 and 2019/20... they both look like rightful relegation candidates.

In fairness I'd have played me and Diane Abbott in front of Shea and Proshwitz.

Wouldn’t mind O’Grady with Woodrow though

What you talking about "have a word"? You asked for a break down of Steele's post Barnsley career and I posted one.

As far as the comparison of the two teams is concerned:
I think the team we have now have, for the most part, the potential to be better players. Although only Mowatt and Woodrow have, so far, gone anyway to proving that. However, I think the team we have now is less equipped to deal rigours of a Championship season. The sum of its parts has the potential to achieve more, the unit is not fit for purpose. The other wasn't much better, but it was put together in an attempt to challenge but failed. There's no attempt but money making with this one.

Tough one. There’s a few in that 2014 season that we’re talented but not interested, Frimpong, McCourt, Cwyka, Mellis & Proschwitz should’ve all had much better careers.

Jack Hunt at his best was a far better full back than anyone we’ve got now as well but unfortunately he was on the way back from a bad injury when we got him on loan.

I’ve no doubt the current team will do better in the long run but right now with the lack of experience I’d be surprised if they got as many points as the 2014 team.

Maybe it's just me but I still think we will stay up. I know it doesn't look good now.

    Steele

    Hunt(Maybe Cavare) Cranie Ramage Golbourne

    Jim O'Brien Mowatt Perkins Cywka

    CoG Woodrow

Who would you swap for who?

Based on my gut feeling. Dougall, Cavare, Chaplin, Brown as maybes from the current team.
Scotland, McCourt, Butland, Tudgay, Hassell as maybes from the 2013-14 one.
Pretty damning of the current state of our squad!

Good luck with that. Find the best odds you can stick £100 on it and hopefully you make some money back,
I really don’t think you will though.

Not a prayer.....sadly. Rotherham’s record low of 23 points even looks an awful long way off to me.

When I was looking looking post Huddersfield the odds I found still weren't that big, but saying that I'm not much of a gambler and spent most of my time trying to lay on Betfair!
