Does anyone care? Genuine question, does anyone care who our next manager is? I can't think of anything with less relevance. He's going to have to work with players he has almost zero input in selecting. They'll all be under 25. If, by some miracle, he manages to mold them into a cohesive unit that can amass enough points to keep us clear of relegation, the better performers in that team will be sold and replaced with even younger more inexperienced players and the impossible will begin again. It is of no consequence or concern to any Barnsley fan who is in charge. The only people it will affect is the family of the poor bugger who takes the job, a man who will estrange himself from his loved ones in an effort to do his very best, to build a career and a team and some pride, and if all that effort results in success, he'll have it ripped from him and be left with fc*k all.
Honestly no. Im only going friday as the chance of a few ales a couple of veras and an hour swinging off the furniture in Opium is too tempting. Stoke game i might do extra footwork drills.
I sincerely hope the chilling truth of that sentence sinks in. That's how far we've moved from being a football club which actually aims to win matches and move up tables.
I won't be at the game on Friday either. It's the first time in over 20 years I will have missed more than 3 games in a row, but I honestly couldn't care less. I won't watch the game on TV either, I'm going to try and have a pleasant evening with the family, rather than spending the night pissed off at the way the club has been smashed to pieces. Onto Stam.... He's a smart man and a really good talker, and I think he would see straight through the owners. Who can we possibly attract? Every man and his goldfish knows were already down. No manager wants a relegation on their CV. What's Paul Clement upto these days? If they want a COACH, a yes man, and a man who they can override and tell him who to play then he's the ideal candidate.
I'm not going. There's a works do. Curry and drinks and warmth with people who might appreciate me being there (they might not, I'm a bit of an @rse, but they did at least invite me). Or cold, humiliation, depression, and a hierarchy who genuinely couldn't give a fc*k whether I'm there or not. And, the way I'm feeling at the moment, there's a very real possibility, if I had a few beers, and they turn up, that I could find myself walking down the steps of the Ponty End, across the pitch, up the steps of the old tunnel, and rip one of the fc*kers out of the directors box for a tête-à-tête. And I'm not sure that would do my life very much good at all.
Doubt we could afford him as manager.even if he was wanted. I shall be going on Friday but with very different feelings than I had at the start of the season.
Easy tiger. If you did March over to the director's box, Chien may roundhouse kick you in the face. And if that fails, Conway, being American, is quite likely to be armed.
I know nothing regarding the managerial situation pal. The last I got told was to expect Murray to take charge of the side possibly on a full time basis. Bad results could change That, mind.... no manager is ever safe.
I like your style. Hopefully Oakwell will filter out into town after and we can all have a laugh regardless of result.
If ANY coach can come in and get these young lads playing and getting enough points to survive (a miricle)...he in turn will be sold.....for a slight profit as soon as...... etc etc !!! So as you say....who cares.
