Hibs are quite a decent sized club in Scotland I cant see him lasting much longer. I was speaking.to a hibs fan at work monday he reckoned if they dont win tonight he is gone, no win since the opening day.
I take no pleasure from his current predicament and will always remember the good times he brought to Oakwell. What’s more I’d have him back tomorrow.
Perhaps he's just not that good at being a manager. Apart from a decent spell taking over a team on an upward curve, he just hasn't cut it anywhere else. Similar in a way to Flicker - we had an amazing run of form under him but I just don't think he is a good manager. He spunked stupid money at Bury for the level and couldn't get them out of League 2. I agree with you, he will struggle to find another manager role. Back to coaching for Hecky.
I'm pleased his team mounted a comeback, if only because it makes them less likely to sack him and him end up back with us, moping abart the place and blaming everyone bar himself.
He brought no good times! Earning a reputation off the back of someone else's signings isn't success. He got lucky because the team were already winning when LJ made the correct decision to head down south!
If we hadn't have won the JPT and sealed promotion he'd have been blamed for that, so I can't see why he shouldn't get the credit for keeping the team on track after February 2016. And I'd have him back too, although I don't think he'd go anywhere near these owners again.
Personally I think it’s understandable about comments about JPT as he took over a team already in final, but when LJ left nobody would have dreamt we would go on such a great run to get into the playoffs and the win them, for that he deserves the credit. I also think he’s a good coach rather than a manager and would be better off finding himself a no2 job at a decent sized club.
Agree with all of that, if you employ an academy coach you get an academy coach. He needs time with an experienced manager to get him to the next level.
