Why did they campaign so rigorously for No Deal taking off the table then and not just go straight to the polls? If they lose the election it's only a withdrawal bill that's been agreed in principal. Nobody knows whether Boris Johnson will leave with a deal.

The thing is the Brexit Party are like the ultra-right wing of the Tory Party. Why vote for that?

Forget Corbyn, just vote for a party and policies that will look after public services, pay people a decent wage, tax the ultra rich and do something about the environment. Even if you have to hold your nose and do it, it makes sense because we can't do with another 5 years of Tory government flogging off the NHS and failing to look after public services.

It's because when all's said and done this election decides whether we leave the EU or not. I doubt much thought has been put in to what happens afterwards. They'll all no doubt draw up all singing, all dancing manifesto's to try and cloud the issue. However, until Brexit has any semblance of being sorted one way or the other the country can't move forward and anything else is just empty rhetoric.

Not sure I agree with any of that! There’s no certainty whatsoever that the election will decide whether we leave or not. Also, it’s what happens if we leave that has caused most of the deadlock (I.e. what the relationship with the EU afterwards will be). Complex issues treated as though they are simple has been the hallmark of this tragic saga. For the extreme leavers, the exit from the EU is just a start of their destructive agenda.

If you want to leave the EU under a Tory Party with no interest in the average person and plenty of interest in the wallets of big business, I'd suggest you're making a serious mistake.

I spoilt my EU referendum ballot because as much as Id have voted to see us leave in a reasonable fashion, but because there was no way I was being stupid enough to let the Tories be in control of Brexit. I mean, why?

I'd rather be dead than vote for this shower of sh*t. If these get any seats in our region we should hang our heads in shame.

The Tories secured a deal that was agreed in principal. Things should be moving on right now. I actually think the GE shouldn't be happening but see it's needed to break the deadlock because of the great joy the Lib Dems and Labour take in voting things down out of necessity.

I'd rather vote for the return of The Bubonic Plague than for Farridge(it's garridge so it's Farridge) and as for Trumps opinion that Johnson and Farridge united would be an unstoppable force - surely the fact that the most bigoted stupid president in history think's it's a good idea, that is one massive reason not to vote for him surely.

What’s the point wasting time having other policies? Farage and co aren’t interested in people knowing their other policies (making loads of money for themselves and/or enjoying the limelight) and their target market are people uninterested in meaningful policies anyway.

But herein lies (sic) a key issue. Who blocked Mays deal? The ERG and Boris Johnson. As well as the DUP. As well as the opposition parties. Yet Johnson makes very small, and worse, changes, and tries to push it through without scrutiny. If you look at the detail, you see why he tried to push hundreds of pages of detailed legislation, citing and referencing dozens of external papers through in just 3 days.

Because numerous aspects included blocks on scrutiny by the commons and by the Lords. How is that democratic? That's autocratic. Dictatorial. Denying scrutiny. Preventing improvement. If he'd allowed the 4 weeks his own legislative director said the bill would require, then I suspect the timetabling would have been accepted.

He's a hypocrite and a liar for saying others have blocked Brexit when he himself did that very same thing with Mays withdrawal agreement.

I reckon (though you never know) that if there was some collective cross party grown up agreement, Brexit would go through and it be much less damaging. But part of the problem has been the ever hardening stance of the leave side. That only the most puritanical extreme version must be allowed. Its no wonder those who voted remain won't let it go. And I'm proud to be one of them.

why aren’t you blaming the tories? They voted against a deal too 3 times including Johnson doing so twice. We could have left a year ago!

Can I ask a genuine question? Why was May's deal voted down by parliament three times if it was a better deal and Johnson's deal agreed in principal straight away? Why did the other parties vote down a better deal?

Indeed.... why would a selection of middle aged to old white males vote down the deal of a female politician?

It was all about pressure to either get rid of her or force her further right. Much was down to the separate document about future relationship and stripping out assurances crucial to a trade deal with the EU. The new document has changed wording subtly, or shifted safeguards from it, meaning the scope to trade with the US and "benefit" from cheap goods that are substandard is easier to do.

The withdrawal agreement Johnson has put forward is a messy fudge for Ireland and how it is viewed and trades. Nobody wanted the backstop, EU included. But now we've quasi annexed NI. In some ways NI benefits. But its suddenly treated differently to other parts of the UK, which some have argued is illegal.

I still think he wants to leave without a deal, and this withdrawal deal was all about clawing back executive powers to block out everyone else to stop him if given a majority.

The Conservatives had a majority after the Referendum, they could have passed anything they liked and no one could have stopped them so there’s only one party that can honestly take the blame.
