    Yes, I know we're a selling club, I know that 100%.
Thing is now though, because we're a shocking side with only a handful of "sellable assets", I think these owners will bite anyones hands off if they give us a decent offer for anyone in January. Anyone who shows a slight semblence of improvement, they'll be off at a slight profit and these owners will deem it a success. But because they have no knowlede of football, there'll be no replacement, like before under Patrick.
Dread to think how cut adrift we'll be by January because of Conway and co.
    Sorry for the rant.

How I try to judge it Athersley is on logic and not emotion. My logic that is. Doesn't mean to say others are wrong.
    1. Invest in youth. ( No resale value on old ones) although I agree to having experience in the side.
    2. Tie them down to longer contracts to hopefully achieve the best return.
    3. Davies. Lindsay wouldn't extend contracts. Davies insisted leaving even though a new contract offer was a little late in my eyes. Lindsay wouldn't talk to the club. Pinnock probably tapped up. Offered far better terms than we were prepared to offer. Moore, strange one. Only rumours. Other than what club put out.
    4. Woodrow and Mowatt signed new deals so not desperate to sell.
    5. If a player becomes unsettled due to offers of better riches elsewhere. Not much we can do unless we offer same. And we all know where that leads to.
    6. I do not support the view that the board want us to be a yo yo club. No sense in that whatsoever.
. This is not supporting the board to the hilt. But trying to view it with an open mind.
Repeat I do not agree with the handling of the Daniel situation. We could and should have had a better explanation.
Nor do I support the fans in their vocal abuse of Paul Conway. Or telling the board to f off. Unless there is a consortium out there willing to take over what's the point. There is a proper way to get a point over rather than subjecting to vile abuse. I'm pretty sure they are aware of the fans opinions through social media without having to resort to such.

Seeing Pinnock after the Brentford game on sky ( was on the bench) he did look really happy on the pitch at the end. I think he feels more at home there. Still think Lindsay and Davies whilst on more money will not be as happy football wise.

I think the fans have the right to vent their frustration at a match. They are the paying public as it were as long as it doesn't tip over into the vile stuff the Arsenal captain was supposedly subjected to

You and I know mate that satisfaction can only come face to face and not on the basis of hearsay. We have to rely on ourselves to get the answers we seek or rely on others. Not based on emotion. They may well lie. As we are well aware of in other circles. Keep the faith you've had worse. :)

You don't need to be Einstein to work out who the next one out of the door will be. I'll be amazed if we get through January without losing Woodrow. He'll have double figures by then and his stock will have never been higher. The only chance of that not happening is if someone crocks him à la Butters.

My point being Helen the personal vocal attack on Conway. The set of greedy b'stds chant. By the same people who would like the ownership to change. (Fans saying we won't get a new manager cos it's a poisoned chalice. Who the hell would take on the risk of being abused by the fans. Oops Mike Ashley) Based on some assuming they're taking money out of the club Not fact The only way they will make any money is to eventually reach the premier league and all its riches. Patrick Cryne was throwing his own money into the club just to pay wages etc. Selling players has always been a main provider of keeping us out of debt. The way they see the way forward I may not agree with.
Whatever happened to the sack the board chant. That gets the same point over but without the vile stuff.

There was the sack the board chant too. Paul Conway categorically said all the money from sales would go into new players but the sums dont add up. I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt in case they were holding some back for January but I'm not so sure now.

Maybe they’ll sell what they can in January, then just ditch the club. They’ll have made a bit... but we’ll be in deep shinola!

Helen; I'm not disagreeing, but how can you say the sums don't add up. I know several people have claimed the board is skimming money off the top, but with so many transfers, both in and out being undisclosed, I don't believe we have an accurate view of the financial situation.

That'll make all the people happy, who want the board and Conway out, with no alternative option on the horizon for the future.

Doesn't excuse the other chants Helen.
People's interpretation of fees are based on estimates not facts. Eg Hourihane less than £1m according to Steve Bruce up to £3m according to other sources. Ballance sheet may show more truths.( Easy to manipulate I assume given chansiris late disclosure) Full fees for example do not have to be paid in full at point of purchase. I prefer to reserve judgement. As said b4 Patrick Cryne poured £100s of thousands into the club. Lots weren't aware of. Some chose not to believe him. I had no reason not to.

Maybe you're right but we all know what's needed to attempt to stay up in the championship and we've fallen short so far.

Although you have a point we didn't when we went down last time- Bradshaw went for family reasons and we pretty much kept hold of the others

I dont believe Lindsay and Davies were any great loss. Halme and Diaby are as good as Lindsay and we have 2 goalkeepers better than Davies. Who's to say Pinnock would have done any better. The only weird one for me was Moore so are we right to go overboard over a couple of players? Personally I've enjoyed the last few home games despite not winning any. Apart from the wing backs I think most players have done well recently. Brown and Wilks appear to have gone backwards but you can see the improvement in Chaplin and Thomas. I don't believe were already down, look at the stats v Bristol. All we need is a defensive coach and get away from this zonal marking.
