He left Barnsley same time as I changed jobs. I have assisted in two massive government projects that have been a success. I am well thought-of, and feeling good. Hopeful it has been one of the more successful periods of my career. With very little financial gain. He's left Barnsley on a sour note, failed miserably at Leeds and Hibs and probably earned more in that time than I have in 36 years of working. Not that I am bitter, but sometimes I wish I'd been a footy gaffer. The thing he has done better than me is being talented enough to earn dosh in a well (silly)-paying industry. Long way back for him now; damaged goods whose next couple of jobs will be reserves or academy coach.
Very very true. Give Hecky anything resembling a level playing field with regard to transfer funding and he would get us promoted. Hecky + Money = Promotion We have the money at the club now. SO GET HIM BACK !!! He’s one of our own. And always will be.
Season ticket goes back* if Leeds scum fork-tongued Meckinleedsbottom returns. The dour c(_)n7. *Maybe.
It’s weird that Hecky had a level playing field (and then some) at Leeds and Hibs yet has failed miserably at both. He’ll do well to get that kind of role again at any sort of standard. I would guess he’ll probably be a number 2 somewhere next.
Heckingbottom was taking us down when he jumped ship, and has done a pretty awful job everywhere he’s been ever since. Why would we want him back? (Not that it would ever happen)
It's almost impossible to judge managers at many clubs, especially ours. At Barnsley, managers are presented with players they may have not chosen and may not rate. They may have team selection "suggested" to them. Their best players are sold from under their feet in mid season. It's really hard to judge a manager in such circumstances.
