If theres no release clauses happy days. No player should be leaving before their contract ends if they are still necessary to the side. Though you have to wonder how **** their agents are not to insist on a release clause
From what I've read of the tweets tonight, I'm not convinced our squad isn't going to be further depleted in January. Wouldn't be surprised if we lose both Woodrow and Mowatt if the powers that be chase the money.
The impression I am getting (and if this turns out to be untrue then I'll be even more pissed off with the board) is that DS has done something wholly inappropriate in some shape or form which has led them to not feel able to thank him. That is the only reason I feel that they could/should withold a basic thank you.
Thing is other clubs have come right out and said stuff eg. Preston with Alex Neil.possibly being poached by Stoke, Sunderland with suing their doctor over Almarez. When that statement was issued though surely the no further comment because of legal reasons could have been added? Although I suspect at that point lawyers werent even in the equation.
My impression is that DS questioned their transfer policy openly & the board have got monk on about it & sacked him & now they're trying to avoid having to pay compensation.
agreed, if he’s done something they think was illegal then they cannot make a public statement, and obviously would feel it inappropriate to thank him if it came out later and was proved to be true. As you say if this isn’t the scenario then they’re just making it worse for themselves by implying it.
I suspect that not only were lawyers not in the equation but spoilt rich kids' toys weren't in the pram.
Ive said this on twitter. Just an exercise for Dane to flutter his eyelashes and everyone in the room to swoon. And have a jolly good night. Dane mentions 11k season ticket holders. Won’t be next season, relegated in embarrassment with a worse side than last time. Absolute joke of a board.
Agree with this. Lose Woodrow, don't bring in any replacement and then we have Schmidt to play up front from January onwards! Yippee!
The bit that got me came in two separate tweets. 1) We sold 3 to buy 12 (NB: clearly haven't sussed that quality, not quantity, matters). 2) We need to move a few on in January to trim the squad. Doesn't give the impression of competence to me.
They will reap what they sow when it comes to season ticket sales next season when our fans now fully realise what our board is now all about.
Never mind, we sold 3 good players to get 12 not so good players, in January we can sell another 2 good pLayers to get 8 more not so good players. That’s 20 players we’ll have. where’s the problem, surely 20 players is better than 5......that’s how it works this football isn’t it?
Is the club saying that all financial income from player sales has been spent? A number were free transfers. If true this is a massive concern. If not why lie/mislead?
