Since 2009 (last figures before coalition government) police numbers have been cut by 22424. The Tories are saying they are going to recruit 20000, that leaves a shortfall of 2424. Ministers (Matt Hancock the latest) are saying police numbers are increasing....even ignoring the fact that some of that 20000 will be support staff and not front line officers it's still less than were there before they came to power. In other words it's a lie to say there will be more police.
Did he say anything about 2009? 20,000 more is increasing in anyone's book from the numbers now. Don't forget the **** up of the economy Labour left when the conservatives/liberals took over. If it wasn't for that police numbers wouldn't have had to be cut.
It's still less than when they came to power......if someone takes £22424 off you now and gives you £20000 in 10 years time have you got more money than you started with? As for the economy....I think you need to read up on the worldwide banking crash that happened around that time.
As I said before did he say anything about 2009? The old worldwide banking crash caused by Labour's lack of regulation of the banking industry (of which I work for) and the lack of saving for a rainy day, not to mention p1ssi1ng away the country's gold reserves at a rock bottom price.
He was lying that there will be more police, yes. As for the second bit....I'll help... https://www.historyextra.com/period/modern/financial-crisis-crash-explained-facts-causes/
1. How do you know there will be less police. 2. As I've already said if Labour had regulated the banking industry more and hadn't spent everything whist things were going well (unusual when a Labour government is in power but I suppose Blair was more right wing than most Conservatives) we may well have been able to avoid the Banking crisis caused by the Americans.
just to highlight that the tories wanted light touch regulation of the banking sector, only when the impact of the global crash occurred, did they hypocritically change tack.
I'm not so sure about that - In the last 3 years of internet and face to face discussions, I've only heard a couple of people genuinely describe what they voted 'for'. My favourite recent clip was the female tory who starts her QT speech with 'I'm sick of remainers telling me I don't know what I voted for - I know exactly what I voted for' cue round of applause.... 10 minutes later when discussing what will happen to trade post Brexit, she straight up responded 'Of course I don't know what will happen - no one knows what will happen'. It seems you all know what you voted for - but you're all keeping it a secret and none of you know what the outcome will be.
1. 20,000 more than today's number is +20,000 2. If the Government in power at the time had regulated the Banking industry better the American Banking crisis wouldn't have affected us like it did and therefore austerity wouldn't have had to be imposed. I suppose if Labour had stayed in power they would have just carried on spending and we would be in the same position as Corbyn's ideal, Venezuela
You do realise how long ago this was and that she'd already been dropped by the party and she did lose her seat - and we had a by-election months ago; remember the Brexit party claimed it was fixed, after their strategy failed and they had to embarassingly cancel their victory party. It's odd you've reported it as if it was this week - the BoJo school of honesty is spreading I see.
without stating the obvious 21000 sacked officers replaced by possibly* 20000 isn’t 20000 more. I’m sure you will agree with or without any blue tinted glasses on. * not a chance
