Momentum? Building momentum? We're on a 15 game winless run. What kind of fc#king momentum is that? If I ever fall down a pit shaft I'll definitely not be lacking in momentum but I'll probably be thinking that isn't necessarily a good thing and I could do with a hell of a lot less of it.
Have you read the article? He doesn’t refer to this winless run as momentum as you are inferring. He says it is about building momentum, about getting that first win and growing from there. It was a decent interview actually, comes across quite switched on, a clever lad.
It's called a joke, and not at the expense of Chaplin, but, as with all these Newsbot posts, a comment on the headline which is, almost without exception, out of context with the article it's promoting and either banality manifest or laugh out loud funny in contradiction to our current plight. To the point where I'm now sure it's done on purpose.
Post and Pre match player interviews happen irrespective of our plight. I believe players are genuinely being honest with their optimism/ outlook in their interviews. It’s easy to be critical and say they wouldn’t say it any other way, but I’m glad I’m reading positivity from the players and coaching staff. Of course It’s up to the individual if they share any or all of that particular player’s comments/ outlook. I would be concerned if all I was reading from them was doom and gloom, akin to a fair number of posts on here.
. Again, as I said above, it is not a comment on the interview with the player, but at the line chosen for the headline
