Barnsley struggling? A newly promoted team struggling in a much better league? STOP THE PRESSES. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. Serious question here.. What would getting new owners do? I didn't see anyone complain about them last season, but now people are pretending like we were Barcelona before they arrived. We have ALWAYS been a struggling Championship team, and a good league one team, at least for the past 10+ years. What would bringing new owners in possibly achieve? Did we never get relegated under previous owners? Were we a Champions league team? Owners are a little more complicated than players/head coach/manager, you can't just keep replacing them when results aren't going our way. These are the richest owners we've ever had, I'll repeat the point that I'm glad we'll never become like Bury as long as we have these owners at the helm. Clearly these owners aren't dumb. I'm sure they'll be as frustrated as the fans are. I'm sure they'll want to put things right, make things better and not make the same mistakes they've made this season. Do people seriously think new owners will change the results? Without them, maybe we wouldn't be here in the Championship in the first place, we could've been League two already. It's been an awful season to be a Barnsley fan but stop overreacting. I've seen us relegated twice in recent years, I'm sure most of you have seen many more so you should be more emotionally stable. Results will come in time. Seeing us in League one again would break my heart, but it's hardly unprecedented in recent years.
The There’s much wrong with this post, I’m staggered you’ve put in down in print. I’m out having an Indian at the mo (getting grief for being on the BBS) but I’ll post a considered response tomorrow.
Be sure they could see the warning signs. The lack of communication, the silence, the distance, the lack of improvement, the broken promises.
The frustrating thing is in their takeover address Paul Conway said they would look to build without doing anything crazy, in the hope that we could eventually have a tilt at getting into the Premiership. Relegation at the end of this season would serve to contradict everything that has been said. I thought they had learned their lesson after the debacle that was Jose Morais, but apparently not.!
Even before last season. They started their time with us by selling relegation rivals Hull one of our defenders. That was before they dropped lucky last season by weakening us mid way through by selling Potts.
Examples of what? The lack of communication? If you look this season it's absolutely littered with it. 21 word statement about sacking our promotion winning, loved manager is one where you can try explain. Broken promises? That the 6 million promotion money and all the money made from transfer sales will go directly back into the playing squad?
Are you real mate It is there youth policy and selling our best players that has got us into this mess Last year we nearly blew it late on and only results going for us got us up They are totally to blame for this mess They chucked the dummy out of the pram when Stendel wanted a bit of experience in the team and sacked him with an insulting 21 word letter. No explanation to the best fans in the country We want someone who will appreciate the club and not use it as a gravy train
Dude, we don't want to be in league one. The team is trying. What baffles me is that after we beat Fulham the same guys wanting the owners out were saying we'd make the playoffs. HILARIOUS.
Go on dave lad!!! ooh dont look at this...enjoy your indian old mate....looking forward to your reply.
We were selling our best players looooong before these owners were ever here. Y'all hated Patrick Cryne at times too until he got sick.
We will improve the matchday experience. Didn't happen Sold Potts and moncur mid season when they didn't have to. I wouldn't recognise most of them if I bumped into them in the street. No idea what half of their voices sound like. Same old same old with ticket pricing. Want more examples or are the obvious ones good enough for you?
No one thinks we should be walking the league, and no one is overreacting about the probability of relegation. It's the reason we're probably going to be relegated that's the point. Whilst I agree that they're not daft when it comes to business, what have they done to prove they know anything about English football? What would I expect if someone else bought the club off them? I'd expect better than supposedly wealthy people buying a business with the sole intention of just keeping it self sufficient.
How can you mention our owners being the richest we've ever had and then mention that we've been selling our best players long before they arrived in the same argument? If you're going to use our owners wealth as an argument for them to stay then how can you not see that it's ridiculous that we are still having to sell our best players year after year? You bring Cryne into this argument not fully understanding the situation around his ownership as well.
