For the chanting against the IRA and Mr McClean on saturday. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...-IRA-anti-Pope-songs-aimed-James-McClean.html
This following from the Diaby chant. Thanks to the idiots chanting for creating this impression of Barnsley fans.
Oh great racist abuse against an Irishman for being Irish - at least thats how it looks, and not really any defence.
I heard the booing but not the chants, not racist at all. they weren't anti Irish they were anti ira. Cant see much wrong with that myself.
Noooo I couldnt face it again - maybe make us play a few games behind closed doors - far better solution
Should have concentrated more on getting behind the team- when was any abuse levelled at a player put them off. Usually spurs them on
This is thing. Not excusing anyone, but it's football, and football attracts all types of fans. Clubs can only ask people not to sing certain stuff, it can't physically stop it without causing further problems.
Yeah that's what I always think. Singling out opposition players usually ends up with them playing a blinder or scoring.
To be fair it’s all triggered by McLean’s disrespect for our war dead. If he can’t bring himself to wear a poppy he ought to be banned from playing on Remembrance weekend. The same happens every year whenever he plays at an away ground.
I wouldn’t know that to be honest. Still doesn’t explain why he opts not to wear one when every other Prem and EFL footballer does (to my knowledge).
