Nowhere near fast enough for this league. As everyone knew, including, judging by their selections, both Stendel and Murray. The question shouldn't be where is Pinillos, it should be why the hell didn't we sign a left back?

We did. Clarke odour. It just seems that as with all the rest he's nowhere near good enough.

Way too slow. And tbh hes not good enough for championship. Maybe left back but defo not wing back. Not that type of player. We said all summer we needed a left back defensive midfielder and a striker. Got none.....

Pinnillos can play in a 4-4-2 just about in this league. He’s a good defender, but his pace at times restricts him.

Sadly, he’s no chance in a 3-5–2. Not his fault.

I’ve said many times - I agree with the 3-5-2, but we’re paper thin on players who can play that system in midfield.

My prediction is Clarke odour exells next season in league one and the sold on for a profit... kerching.

That's my main problem with the plan, instead of bringing in young players who could potentially make a profit before their 4 year deal expires we should have been looking at young players who could do a job I'm this league now aswell as players who have played a few seasons in this league.

Exactly. And as someone tried explaining yesterday (or the day before). Wanting EVERY player to make a profit in this way is so shortsighted because collectively they're holding each other back. Throw in a mixture of experience and leadership too and you will bring those weaker inexperienced players on and their value is higher.

Instead of hoping to make £500k on bambo diaby and £200k on Toby sibbick we would be far better off spending £2m (if necessary) on an experienced tested centre back who would bring diaby on and make him even better maybe giving a return of say £3m on that one complete player.

Figures just thrown around but it's no coincidence that our best sale was John stones who credits so much of his success to the likes of Bobby hassell.

Really? I’ve watched him a fair few times now and I’ve never once thought any of those things you’ve listed.

Not the quickest and fairly injury prone but he has good technical ability and the experience that so many yearn.

I think he could do a job for us but clearly the coaches don’t agree with me.

Couldn’t disagree more. He’s been a real leader in the back 4 at times for us. I sit in the west lower so am closest to our left back for half the game and he’s always marshalling the defence when he plays with passion.

How anyone can judge that either Jacob Brown or Ben Williams are better at left back is beyond me.

My opinion: they won’t do that because they are extremely risk averse. There’s a chance using your theory that they waste the money and players don’t develop as they hoped, whereas this way there’s no risk but a good chance of profit. This means we will always have an abject team at this level but they don’t care about that.

He's slow but as a left sided defender he's got to be considered as an option.

He's just a career footballer picking up a wage, which is fair enough, we all have to make a living . He just goes through the motions and doesn't seem to care, wether we win lose or draw he's first down the tunnel.

If we don't play a high line, pressing game he is a decent option. While we are carrying on with this ludicrous policy in the division we are in, he doesn't fit. We would be better going for a counter attack policy & playing deeper. Would suit Diaby, Pinillos, Cavare & our pacey attackers. Hit teams on the counter attack. It is pretty simple to realise we don't have the quality for he high line we are playing. I'm not Einstein. Just J P.

Pinillos should have been playing as the left-sided central defender in this current setup. With Halme central and one of Sibbick, Andersen and Diaby on the right side. He is good in the air, solid in the tackle and technically sound, whilst he'd offer an actual left foot to the defence. We had three lefties last season in a back four.
He might lack pace but it isn't as important in that position, with a wing-back outside him and Dougall marshalling ahead. He's a very good talker too and has massive heart. Some have suggested previously that he's not playing because we can't make money on him due to his age and length of contract remaining. But we're picking Dougall who's in the same boat.
