I never spend a few months paying more. I put a reminder in my phone for a month before my deal ends. I phone up and start the months notice period then so my price doesn't go up. Before I call I always check what they and Sky are offering new customers as I know I can get the same if I play the game correctly. It's just frustrating having to go through it all. Also having to play dumb on the phone rather than just tell them outright what I'm doing. It does however work if you can bothered.
Presumably the idea is to stop those people who could turn up, from just watching at home. Rather than paying full price to come and watch at The Well. I'm not against those abroad being able to watch a match. Thank you for the clarification.
But you do have to have a new contract though ??? As you may guess, I don't have Sky or any other .....broadband on shortest contract I could get (still cheapest for what I need so don't need to change) and pay as you go mobile.
Yes you have to sign up for a new contract but I always make sure the contract is the same length as the deal i take, so when the deal ends I am in better position to negotiate.
This. Always this. And with a slightly exaggerated woe-is-me voice, cos "I've retired recently and I'm having to cut costs to bring my outgoings down to my pension level". Never fails.
It's worth checking the cost of the same room with Booking.com - as I've seen the same room cheaper on their site. Cashback tends to be less though.
They threatened me with legal action because when I left Sky I accidentally cancelled my Direct Debit too early. Even when I made a one-off payment to cover it they still said I would be summonsed. It went on for almost a year with constant threatening emails and post. Odious company.
I left Sky for Virgin. They are both very good at putting your price up once you have been with them for some time. I pay circa £72 per month for Broadband, landline and TV ( TiVo). Been thinking of trying something different for some time but not got round to it thus far. Just starting on Virgin is Spurs v Arsenal Women from the Tottenham stadium. What a ground that looks to be. Look to have got it spot on. Very impressive.
I'd say you are overpaying at that. You really have to work to get the cheap deals though. Last 2 years I have actually cancelled and then waited for them to call me. Told them I was off to sky and would have to cancel installation to stay with them ect. I pay £62 a month for TV (2 tivo boxes) with Sport (no movies) Broadband And a phone line I didn't even want but apparently it's cheaper if I have it. I don't even have a phone plugged into it.
Can you give me more details please.? What is the cost and what do you get for your money.? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for that bud. I will see what I can do to get the price down. I don't want to go back to Sky. I had problems with them in the past. Vowed they will not get a penny off me in future.
Just tell them you will. And don't be afraid to cancel and wait. All the services stay on for 30 days so you can wait and see.
