That's the reason I'm staying away at the minute.

I quite like haiku, but limericks are much more fun:

Y'all know that we needed a newber,
So we've set on this guy, Gerhard Struber,
    If it doesn't suit you,
    Please try not to boo,
While we're falling faster than Hans Gruber.

We have owners called Conway and Lee,
They've issued us with their decree,
    We now must unite,
    Even if we are s**te,
And sell the squad for just 10p

Good luck to him. He's taken on the job, presumably fully aware of the circumstances, so that's to his credit. We'll find out soon enough what he's made of as I think he's been well and truly thrown in at the deep end.

For now, we'll see how well he copes with working with a squad he can't change in the immediate short-term. From January, we'll find out how well he copes with incoming and outgoing transfer activity that he'll have little influence on, and which will tell us more about the owners' attitude to the club in the light of very obvious failings so far this season.

Like most of our supporters, I know virtually nothing about this guy, so I have an open mind about his suitability for the role. It will be interesting to see what happens with the backroom staff in the next few days, as it's seems likely that there are one or two coming into the club with him, but less clear as to what that means for those already here.

As for judging him in the role, then the expectation is that anything other than relegation this season would make him a hero. Relegation is the expectation at the moment, so doesn't automatically mean he's a failure. It's a different situation to the appointment of Morais, where were were odds on to stay up at the time and managed to surrender our status in the most abject manner from literally the first kick of the Burton game. Expectations of survival are much lower this time around, and we should be mindful of making direct comparisons. From where we are currently, putting up a decent fight to avoid relegation would be as much as we could realistically expect from him.

He hasnt quite got carte blanche though , if we end up playing worse then presumably questions will be asked. I think the reality of the situation took Murray by surprise bit too and hed had the benefit of working with them before he took the role.

On a positive note, we now have someone in charge ( hopefully until.at least the end of the season!)

He will also need a coping saw to shape his coping strategies once he realises just what he has to work with. Good luck Grrrrrrrrrrr.
