Have two VAR referees, 1 from each team. The refs then scrutinise the other teams VAR incidents. Hey Presto!!! No more VAR controversies! Can’t imagine why nobody thought of it before
Just scrap it. In theory it is a fantastic piece of technology and if deployed correctly it really could improve the game. Unfortunately the idiots who run football have made a total hash of it and have actually made the game worse by making it even more controversial than it was previously. I hardly watch Premier league football anymore but I had the radio on Talk Sport yesterday afternoon and it sounded shambolic when goals were scored.
VAR the Barnsley way (example) Liverpool v Barnsley FACup 5th round 2008. Without VAR Howard scores reds win 2-1 With VAR (imo) Howard scores Goal disallowed for penalty decision . Penalty saved . Replay at Oakwell lose 0-4 **** VAR
The technology is ok. The problem with VAR is its manned up and decided upon by the same officials who make these mistakes on the pitch week in week out and seem to want to be star of the show. Its no coincidence our referees weren't in attendance at the world cup. Im convinced the chief ref (who is also part of this incompetent bunch) will find a way to position it as successful.
