I thought it might have been 5-7% in Barnsley. Couldn't tell you what the percentage is locally, much much higher obviously. In just the houses around me there are natives of Sri Lanka, Ghana, Ireland and China. All working, all contributing, all going about their daily lives.

Sounds wonderful. It's a shame some people seek to sow division to further their aims.

We're all humans. There's always more that we have in common. Maybe I am getting soft in my old age.

I have more in common with an immigrant working away to feed their family and give them the best chance at life than I do the bankers/the Etonian lot.

Probably convinced themselves this is OK over time with rent etc.

It's the system we have in place that is broken.

Still, think they're all scum though!

Seriously? You do know that the Lib Dems kept the Tories I check for 5 years yeah? They gave everyone a huge boost in the income kept before tax and gave us the opportunity to have our votes all count equally - a prospect that could have seen the Tories sent into oblivion, but no no , you blame the lib dems. You go

In being live streamed on Facebook by a popular match streaming group. The room is packed full. I have no words.

Even packed full doesn’t mean the support is there .
It’s a room out of tens of Thousands of Barnsley central residents .
At least a quarter of the room will probably be his entourage and security .
However even the slightest support will be hyped by the media no doubt about that,
Tommy Robinson can be made to look mainstream with a full room .
Few years ago in Barnsley someone started a rumour that a migrant had grabbed a young girl , the paranoia spread through the Town with a march planned through the town .
The few that turned up for the march were made to look like the whole town had turned turned out, when in truth only a couple of hundred if that marched and of those many were from the surrounding areas and not wishing to judge people on looks you can guess the type .
I think it’s something that should be confronted and imo his appearance will galvanise the ordinary people to use their vote against him , the more Farage is (properly) scrutinised the more a dick he becomes .

The Justice for Orgreave use the logo on their campaign to highlight the miners that were sacked during the strike some just for picking coal .
This Town still suffers from what Thatcher did all those years ago by highlighting the past we are protecting the future .

Unfortunately journalists will walk past and ignore the vast majority of Barnsley’s sensible people to get to the idiots at the back for a comment.
Ps we should be sticking coal not dole stickers all over Brexit propaganda. Nigel will love that being a Thatcher babe .[/QUOTE)
Farage is a massive bell end but mentioning coal on national tv when talking about politics would make the town look like it’s stuck in a generation gone by.

You mean the Fib Dems, who float from policy to policy quicker than the wind changes, regardless of what they promise..
Plus I said 'Jo Swinson' as a person not the Fib Dems. Jo Swinson that under her own conscience voted for all those policies of austerity etc. Same Jo Swinson who accepts donations from a fracking company, but now pledges banning it. Same Jo Swinson with donations from connections to Russian Oil companies..

But as you mention the Lib Dems. They were simply the weakest coalition presence. they could have easily forced through more policies but chose not to by simply threatening to walk away. Look at how the DUP have made things hard for the Tories. Fib dems were in a much stronger position than the DUP with their confidence and supply agreement. They could also have formed a government with Labour but chose not to in FAVOUR of the tories. Jo Swinson in particular as is common knowledge, voted with the government more than most Tory MP's did..

So yes, I'd rather see Farage than her..

You'll be lucky seeing as he hasn't the guts to even stand as a MP.....scared a dolphin would beat him again.

Apparently there is a demo at the club and he has sneaked in the back.

The issue with immigrants and employment is quite complex and is so far integrated into the system it’s nigh on impossible to resolve.
A high % of immigrants do work and strive to support themselves and their families the trouble is they are mostly employed by industries and companies who take advantage of them as they will work harder, longer & for less than most British.
A large majority of them are forced to work self employed basis and are paid so low they never contribute a penny back.

so whilst the headline might read illegal workers, don’t pay way etc actually is that their fault or is it the system that allows companies to manipulate them?

Too easy to blame immigrants per say.

There has to be accountability for orgreave but that was 35 years ago, most people have moved on, retrained and lived 35 years of life since then. What that witch and her cronies did to the industries in general (my dads included) was a National scandal but bleating about it in front of camera to the rest of the country is pointless and embarrassing.
Back to farage, my own belief is that because neither labour nor tories took any notice whatsoever of some of the issues that the British public had with the eu, this parasite saw a career opportunity and went to work. The protest votes cast for ukip again arrogantly went unheeded, Cameron then loved us with a ridiculous vote and the rest is history. Please just bear in mind that both our main political parties are to blame for this clusterfuck and the only way either can sell themselves in this election is to point out how bad the other one is. I’m afraid it’s not good enough for British politics to be guided by a decision on who’s less **** than the other one.

Ahh those words again “move on “
Easy fir someone that wasn’t effected or able to move on .
Fortunately I stood with these lads on the pickets lines and knew it could have as easily been me that were arrested or beat up ,
The passage of time hasn’t helped these lads to them the fight goes on and I’ll stand by them .
Just as I stand by any victims past , present and future .
