Wasn't this a preliminary document from when Theresa May was pm, and as she’s no longer pm and as we have a much changed cabinet is it anything to get our knickers in such a twist about ? When the head of the Jewish church calls you out on antisemitism, when its so prevalent in your party you’re under investigation by the equality and human rights commission, when your Jewish mp’s are resigning because of it, I suppose all you can do is drag out a year ild document from a previous pm and a previous cabinet and hope you can deflect.

    Well on point one.
The yanks will have it in their trade agreement that we can’t buy from other country’s and if the yanks ain’t got it they source for us we won’t be able to go direct ,
This is standard in US trade deals on countries that are desperate for a trade deal which is what we’ll become because Boris will want to trumpet trade deals and parade them as great deals .
A lot of the Tory support comes from people within these Pharma companies either directly or indirectly they are almost golden bonds for the super rich .
If anyone thinks we start from a point of strength against these multi rich drug companies then goodness help us . They hold their own country to ransom with hordes of lawyers fighting almost always winning cases against ordinary citizens and if they do lose a film is made about it and the successful lawyers are brought into their ranks .
Do I think what we have now is perfect ? Not in the slightest but looking over the pond there is scope for it to get worse if we not careful .

Sorry but you have to laugh at this thread
OP quoted the Independent on something the Tories have denied but the article is taken as gospel, halfway through the Sun and The Mail are slated for being biased.
Now that may or not be true but fk me you couldn’t make it up

At least Andrew Neil will give Johnson a grilling when he appears on the programme. Oh wait, the lying coward isn't even appearing.

Also, I bet you a pound to a penny that the (albeit sad) death of Gary Rhodes dominates the front pages tomorrow whereas the exposure of the NHS decapitation will barely make copy.

It comes to something when as you say politicians have a track record of lying that Boris is accused more than any other and even among the liars he’s classed as exceptional .

I’d laugh it it wasn’t so serious. What is amusing is all the usual suspects who are quick to claim this doesn’t matter. It’s one thing not liking JC but to just shrug your shoulders and claim it’s all right it doesn’t really matter when it’s the other side is beyond.

The recall act put in place should extend to proven blatant lies. Also the recall act should also be extended to include having a general election if an elected government does the opposite of what is implicitly elected upon in it's manifesto.

Personally I’m waiting to see whether it’s true or not first, don’t trust any of the candidates as far as I could throw them.
If it was the other way round folk would be saying is it a coincidence that it’s suddenly come to light just after the anti Semitism thing?

if it wasn’t true don’t you think there might have been something said about it in a court or in a statement. Why was the document so heavily redacted if there was just chat about the weather.

Independent body that anyone can complain to.
First offence of proven lying - suspension one week (no pay/expenses)
Second offence - suspension two weeks
Third offence - by-election, with party unable to stand

For Ministers, investigation and the ability to press charges against them after 3rd offence.

It'd never happen but it is what we need to sort out the lying.

The recall act will do nothing of the sort and if a politician will lie to the Queen anything goes .
I must say for a supposed labour voter your extremely critical of every labour policy and revelations and protective and excuse the Tory line and it’s policies . Summat don’t seem right .

I wonder what the mood music would be if tomorrow a document from a year ago was leaked that showed Jeremy Corbyn was about to disband the military and scrap trident, having the day before said he absolutely wouldn't do that.

I'm not voting Labour, but the imbalance of coverage, the strange editing and the over scrutiny of one and the lack of scrutiny of the other is frankly more befitting a one man election In Russia.

Maybe the way I worded that Marlon. I know the current Recall act would do nothing of the sort. Where I said extend, I mean amend to extend to the other things to make politicians more responsible to the public. Yeah, at the moment the current one is a bit toothless..

In answer to being critical yeah defo.. I am being critical because I am finding it hard to fathom out how they will deliver all what they are promising.. When you say revelations, I don't like media political point scoring and I just think a lot of these claims (NHS being sold off for one) are TBH. Just my personal opinion but I've said before it would be suicidal for any party to do that. I think the only thing that I have been really supportive from a Tory policy is to leave the EU and by that I've posted loads of times with a deal.

All in all though, I will be voting Labour and hoping I am wrong in that I think too much has been promised and should for instance Labour be elected, not delivering on this manifesto could really, really harm them as a party and the old 'Tust' word again. I would rather them tone things down and set out clearly what they will deliver in 1 parliamentary term to make it much easier to assess. I don't want to hear about promises in this election which they intend to do by 2030 and beyond. That goes for all parties. All parties should be forced to set out Year 1 to Year 5 what will be introduced, especially tax wise.

You say summat doesn't seem right. I love playing devils advocate as well so will put points out for debate, I like to hear both sides of the story. Plus lets be fair not most threads on here when political have been attacking brexit or Tory policies so rather than just agreeing with stuff, I'll put something out there along the lines of 'Ok what's the alternative'. I like to discuss stuff especially politics obv and footy but to some folk, you included (think you have labelled me Tory scum as few times lol) jump all over the debate with a little too much, whats the word 'Venom or Wrath' lol..

But come 12 December my vote will be for Dan. You should see my discussions with him, I give him a hard time on stuff but in a supportive way and I actually like the bloke.

I'm just a little more to the centre than Corbyn and his front bench because I think the more centre ground leads to better cooperation, but I guess you could say that about most of the labour MP's.
