His best game at Oakwell playing against us on the Right Wing for Huddersfield in a friendly.

Think about it. Liability at the back. The lad cant defend or mark a man. How many goals has he cost us this season. But his strength is in attack bombing forward with power and pace. Yet we have never played him in a more advance position.

He is ok going forward to the point were he has to engage his brain and make a decision. Then just like his defending it all goes tits up.

Very basic error for their goal re- wrong side of the attacker. No chance of blocking the run
and forcing him towards the corner flag, which meant we concede yet another easy goal.
Nice to see that such is his obvious respect for the Club, Ash Fletcher did not celebrate his goal.

I was a fan.... but he is a liability it frightens me when he as to defend one on one... The only way i think our defence can lay at the minute is with diaby /halme/anderson at the back and possibly ben williams and jacob brown as wing backs i just dont see any otherway. We cant play a straight back 4 as we dont have the players play in it. Only reason anderson woud make selection btw is the fact we aint anyone else

If Cavare is selected, you absolutely aren't getting a flat back four.

Some players - Hourihane is a good example - are constantly striving to improve their game. They're clever enough to know that for those with ability and ambition, the rewards are potentially enormous. They put the effort in, not for their club especially, but for themselves. Almost as a bi-product, the club benefits twice: firstly by having a player on the pitch who delivers the goods, secondly by seeing the player's saleable value increase.

Some players are the complete opposite. Happy to be drawing a wage with minimum effort, they either don't see or don't care that their personal stock is diminishing.

If Cavare can't see how good he could become with a change in attitude and a bit of effort, then there is no hope for him at this level.

He got to the ball first and instead of putting it out of play dithered and lost possession .

That was his basic error .

one of the reasons why the defence is full of errors at the minute is because we decided it was a great idea to sell 3 of our almost ever present back 5 and their first replacement Jackson then replace them with young inexperienced players. On top of that we have chopped and changed then chopped and changed then chopped and changed, 3 different managers god knows how many different starting back lines and formations, used two different goalkeepers and now as a result the whole defensive organisation is non existent, this isn't an excuse for this one error by Cavare but it is a reason why ALL the defenders are sloppy and don't know who will be next to them one week to another

He's a dreadful footballer and its not down to talent, his body language and attitude is appalling. How bad must Jordan Williams be to not be getting a game over him?

How we didn't bring a right back in the summer is just mesmerising. We knew how bad Cavare was in the last spell of the championship. He's clearly got some talent, we see it in spells. But he just doesn't care I don't think, therefore I hope he is out of our football club in January and we bring someone else in.

I was at that friendly and everyone round me was raving about him. I said he was **** and couldn't defend. Wasn't happy when we bought him to be honest. Big strong lad who bombs forward, but he has no football brain.

He's got the physical attributes to be a good player, but mentally something's not right, whether it be attitude or intellect or both.
He was doing daft things in L1 and he's still doing them. Not for me.

He did get there first, but touched the ball forward into their players path. Being on the wrong side
of him he was then unable to stop him running forward to create the chance for Fletcher.
I agree with you, what he should have done is put it out for a corner, but alas he didn't.

I watched that same friendly & thought he was poor. Hammill took the piss out of him a couple of times. Found it baffling to come online & read praise of him after.

You’re not getting a lot of support for your suggestion I see but let me break ranks and say I agree with you. Cavare has never been a great defender. Lacks concentration and doesn’t play as part of a unit. However, I think we always look a better attacking side when he plays. So, if he has any future at the Club. - it’s at the right side of midfield for me.

Thing with friendlies is literally no one is giving it 100% so he fits right in under those circumstances.

Cavare was the main person at fault for the goal. However when the ball was played in to the middle our centre half's were out of position and Radlinger dived before they had even shot.
