I remember one of this kids' football mags I used to read, back in the day, Match or Shoot, making a big thing of him signing for Forest as one of his team mates would be Brian Rice.
'Rice & Currie' in the same team.
Him and Coops were my first Barnsley heros though and guess that applies to anyone who just missed out on the Glavin era.

As a kid I lived near Bradford (still do) and remember loving watch Currie run rings around their defence at Valley Parade, we won 2-1

Steve Agnew was in that team I believe. I always remember before a home game
he would trot over to the Ponty End and sign autographs for the young fans.

Before he left, he used to kick the wall to loosen any grass from the underside of
his boots. Always popular with Reds fans, Aggie gave eight years of loyal service
before leaving to join Blackburn for £700 k which at the time, was the highest fee
Rovers had ever paid for a player.

Also remember that our former coach Tommy Wright was on the wing for the Foxes in that game.
Surprised to see that that game was some twenty nine years ago. How time flies.

My lad was the mascot that day. Liecester were great hosts. Sat behind Gerry Taggart in their main stand who'd signed the previous day. Liecester fan came up to me at the end. Shook my hand and said " your lot deserved that win mate". I replied "too true pal"

I was with my cousin in the Main Stand. He's a season ticket holder at Leicester, so I had to sit on
my hands when we scored. Our John just glowered at me when we scored. It's frustrating when your
team score and you darent celebrate. I let out a big " Yew Reds" though when I got back to my car
    for the journey home.

Top player for us. It feels like I was watching a different club back then when I look at us this season.

True MK. We didn't realise it at the time, but we seemed to have better all round teams back in the
day, even though we seemed to be living from hand to mouth.

Was easier to compete in them days mate as wages weren't as far apart as today. What with parachute payments and clubs throwing money at trying to reach the premier. Most of those players for us in them days wouldn't have come. Being probably able to quadruple what we would offer.

Know what you mean, I was with the home fans at St Andrews when we won 4-0 in the playoffs (2000). A friendly steward let me into the away end at half time thankfully.
