For saturdays trip to Cardiff? I know there’s no reason to change a winning team but wouldn’t the team be better if Hame was at back instead of Andersen and Dougal at the back of the diamond? Hopefully that win yesterday is the start of many. Well played lads and keep pushing!
I can’t understand everyone’s love in with Dougall. The Stoke game was the worst performance by a central midfielder since that time Robbie Williams (the fat footballer, not the fat dancer from take that) played there.
He is one of our better players. Everyone has a bad game and everyone in this team as had a number of them this season. But Dougal is a calm steady player and I think we need that kind of player in the team. I wouldn’t rush to change it as it worked yesterday but it is a good option to have.
That was my exact thoughts before kick off, yesterday. But then I thought Halme was immense, and Andersen better than of late too. Tricky one that.
I do like Kenny Dougall and think he’s one of our better players but I would stick with the same winning side. I mean, we haven’t had the option to pose this question for what feels like forever so let’s do it! Aapo offers the height to win the high ball in central midfield, which Kenny doesn’t. That also helps with set pieces in either box. If he keeps winning the ball and giving it to Mowatt or Bahre to then dictate play like he did yesterday then that’s good enough for me.
Only jordan Williams wants taking out of team he's just not good enough but everyone seems to have a vendetta against Cav right now and we dont have another right back so what do you do??
I think managers approach away games different from home games so I wouldn’t be surprised if there aren’t tactical changes to starting eleven tbh.
You cant change it really, but if i had to i would have dougall next to mowatt..... Move woodrow upfront and have bahre as the attacking midfielder. No need to change it tho, this team deserves the chance to go again and try put a run together.
There's no vendetta against Cavare. He has routinely cost us goals this season through his unwillingness to defend. Even last season he was the most culpable when it came to mistakes. He's just not very good, and as one of the most experienced players at the club, and no doubt one of the most wealthy, he really has no excuse. Jordan Williams is just 20 and hasn't appeared since his nightmare display at Preston. He is nowhere near the finished article, and I'd agree with anyone who says we shouldn't be having to play him at this level just yet. But he was very good at the back end of last season and whilst he's not figured much this time around, I felt much more at ease watching him at right back yesterday. He doesn't charge forward irresponsibly, and if he does get caught upfield, he actually sprints back to help.
I agree. He uses the ball well & stays in position. Finished article, no. For my mind that is a position we need to strengthen in January & maybe let Cavare go. It's not just Struber who has seen Cavare's deficiencies, Stendel did as well. He is great charging forwards at times, but his lapses are numerous. It's no surprise to me that our first win since the first game of the season happened when he was dropped. For now Williams should have the shirt. If he fails I'd be tempted to put Brown in there, he's covered that position before.
Chaplin pressed their defenders all game, working very hard and got a fine goal to reward his efforts. For that, I wouldn’t be moving him. Plus, I think Cauley’s link up play is probably the best at the club so I think he suits the role just behind the strikers well. Let’s just hope he can keep his goal scoring up from back there.
Same team for me. It worked when lots of other teams & systems we’ve tried haven’t. Why anyone would change it is baffling
