I’d be interested in how our wages compared to everyone else in league one, that’s the litmus test. We can assume Sunderland were way out with that, but because of their precipitous fall from the premiership it’s hardly surprising.

It think the board have failed to communicate with us effectively, as a result we have no idea if he’d been treated badly or not.

It’s hard to know for sure but I’d imagine there was a good chance we had the second biggest wage budget in league one. The squad didn’t change much from been relegated from the championship & we had players like Mowatt, Moore, Potts, McGeehan, Thiam, Lindsay, Pinnock, Davies, Cavare, Pinillos, Isgrove, Hedges, Fryers & Jackson who all signed for us or extended contracts with us whilst we were a championship club.

Carrying a big wage bill was probably offset by the sales of Bradshaw, Pearson, Knasmullner & McCarthy who we apparently all sold for a profit.

I’d be amazed if Charlton or Portsmouth had a bigger wage bill than ours last season.

Wish them all well. Cracking city to live in & a league on the up. Always a gamble going to the unknown but Stendel’s already done that previously in joining us.
