Steve Hillage's "Live Herald" album is an old favourite of mine. More recently I've enjoyed "Love and Endings" by No-man.
I do like Idles I must admit. And I'm 50 years old and show no signs of growing up. Really like this performance:
Went to see them in Leeds on Thursday, and it was the best gig I've seen in years. Unbelievable energy for 100 minutes.
Top band, had the pleasure at a couple of festivals in the summer, on at the ally pally tonight, had the chance of a ticket but was proving a ball ache to get there in time so had to pass it by, threaders actually!
I'm not a big fan of live albums either but I find Phil Ochs' "There and Now: Live in Vancouver 1968" an incredibly moving blend of music and history. It was recorded in the aftermath of the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago while the impact on him was still very raw. The performance of "Crucifixion" in particular is outstanding, IMHO. It's definitely my favourite Phil Ochs album.
