With VAR we definitely get a penalty for the blatant push on Chaplin. We go 3-1 up and perhaps, just perhaps, we go on and win the game. I’m not arguing for VAR, just pointing out the inconsistencies between the top league and the rest.
But also in fairness with VAR we would have conceded a LOT of penalties this season that have gone unnoticed. Diaby holds everyone he miraculously gets anywhere near, so does Andersen. Happens at each set play
We still wouldn't get penalties. Woodrow could get kicked 6 feet into the air and VAR would have miraculously developed a fault at that exact moment. Gof forbid that someone like today's ref could be held to account!
Some of the penalties that we haven't been awarded were so blatant that VAR shouldn't be needed; just half decent officials.
Fair comment. Just pointing out that we now have a game with rules that are applied differently depending on the division.
